rwieder 0 #1 May 26, 2006 I'm glad Kenneth Lay & Jeffery Skilling were found guilty and convicted of their crime(s). Although this is going to do little good for the x-employees and stock holders. Their lawyers stated yesterdy that they ere going to appeal the verdict..go figure. This is nothing more than a bittersweet temporary victory for me. Not to mention they were investigated, tried and convicted with our $$$. Insult to injury? I happen to be one of the "plucked chickens" who lost every red cent my wife and i ever put into that company I'm not going to mention the amount of $$$ we lost, it ould only serve to make me appear to be way more ignorant than i really am. (Along with thousands of others) In either event, how many of you here lost any $$$ at all in "Enron Gate?"-Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"

I hate hearing of your loss and all the other folks who believed those lyin' sumbitches! I don't thing you or any of the other investors were 'ignorant'. You and all the others were just trying to make sure that when you retired, you could live without worry. Those two, got just what they deserved! Lay, should've gotten more years, just for the mere fact that he doesn't see what he did wrong! Chuck

Their lawyers will "Fill up the paper bin" and "continue" this thing for years, they'll never do time. Personally, i just lost a boat load of $$$. Hundreds, if not thousands of others losts their livelyhoods. They workored there for years, and then one day was told "See Ya" that blows. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
jakee 1,595 #5 May 26, 2006 Is there any chance that the sentancing will include paying reperations as well as jail time? As far as I can see the huge personal fortunes those men built up are the result of criminal activity (along with the other executives who plundered the pension funds etc) and as such they have no right to keep it. Of course there's no way they can replace the huge amounts of money that were lost but I just don't see how they can be entitled to keep the money that they only have because they knew what was happening. I'm sorry for what you lostDo you want to have an ideagasm?
rwieder 0 #6 May 26, 2006 If i'm not mistaken, they all filed bankruptcy straightaway. Again utilizing the "system" to hide from the fate that they should have inherited. Of course, they're innocent....right? -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"

I heard, what those two have paid for their defense! It seems to me, the govt., could confiscate that money like they do in drug cases and pay at least some of it back to those folks that lost their hard earned money to those sumbitches. In drug cases, as you know, the govt. can take homes, boats SUVs and the like. Seems like that could be done here too. It's a sorry damned deal. The big losers in this deal are still, the folks who lost everything. The victims usually are. Unless, y'all get together and file a civil suit!? You can't "squeeze blood out of a turnip" You would think the Govt could confiscate everything they have. This would be the right thing to do, but that's just my opinion.-Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"

Oh yeah. And you just *KNOW* they're gonna lie about the size of their Assetsholes! And yeah... I wonder how they're paying their lawyers if they really have no money. No doubt the money's somewhere like Switzerland, Cayman Islands, Lichtenstein... Somewhere with nice confidentiality on banking laws. Mike.
