crwtom 0 #1 May 12, 2006 Assuming GWB will remain in office until 2008 and there are no big attacks of the 9/11-magnitude what will be end-of-term approval rating of Bush junior in 2008? Compare with historical data Of course, this is still a long time and depends on many factors. Presidents have turned around record low approval ratings - usually by refocussing public attention on more favorable issues, but I doubt there are very many left for GWB. In the last few years his ratings have dropped relatively steadily by around 10% a year despite reoccuring reassurances of conservative pundits that ratings are "finally leveling out". T You could have opted for LOWER THAN WHALE SHIT, so I just voted lower than Nixon. But Nixon wasn't that bad is the off thing. He established OSHA and had great relations with China, which we now see is imperitive. Nixon didn't plant the bugging devices, but he knew about it. Still, cheating on an election isn;t as bad as most things Bush has done.
Lucky... 0 #4 May 12, 2006 QuoteHigher than Clinton/Reagan (>65%) 1 / 7% Alright, put down the bong and step back The 69 Jets did the impossible, but this would take something several times more insane than the 69 Jets. The economy is actually pretty good right now and his numbers keep dropping...... stick a fork in him

Zipp0 1 #6 May 12, 2006 A last second "miracle" capture of Bin Laden seems in the cards. That would negate everything negative that he has ever done. And he'll credit domestic spying on the capture. crwtom 0 #7 May 12, 2006 QuoteA last second "miracle" capture of Bin Laden seems in the cards. probably true two ro three years ago. But that name seems to have lost much of its fizz in recent time. Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri are effectively emeriti with not much bang lately to rally islamic nut jobs or shock the west. However, thanks to the Iraq war catalyst, Al Qaeda has a widely recognized and lively new management led by Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi. The old Al Quaeda is a bit scattered but its iraqi reincarnation is alive an kicking with more than fluent recruitment. Bush at least got Congressional permission before invading Iraq. Whereas Nixon just bombed Cambodia. And that's just the tip of iceberg for what that scumbag did in the 70s. (ie, Saturday Night Massacre) ---- Where will Bush end up at the end of term? He could be in decent shape in Nov 2008 if the economy continues to do alright, if we're leaving Iraq by then, and esp if the two candidates are bozos. Clinton looked very good to more people in 2000 when put up next to Gore and Bush, and you know that you're only stuck with him for a couple more months, so you tend to become less critical. However, the questions was not what your opinion is, but what you think the public's opinion will be.
