"Last I knew in this country, you have to prove him guilty." ------------------------------------------------------What a crock of shit. If you have plenty money, maybe. But for the average Joe you're guilty. Multiple charges to get you to cop to a plea. The criminal justiced in America nowadays. Hiel Hiter

100% true. I have a cousin right now in this situation. He cannot afford to go to trial, and even though he is innocent he has to try to plea a lesser charge or face a possible long jail term.

Only the wealthy get justice in modern America.

So even with innocent, wrongfully accused advocacy groups like IIPPI, justicedenied.org, and P.A.T.R.I.C.K., not to mention thousands of defense attorneys, media outlets and DNA technology your cousin may serve time for a crime he did not commit because he doesn't have enough money ??

DNA does nothing for him. His lawyer advised him that if he fights it he will lose. He is accused of selling drugs to a cop over 2 years ago. All of the evidence is total BS and can be proven as so. The lawyer says it does not matter - they will say "He's a druggie" and throw the book at him.

You got it backwards. The courts have heard this since back before Clinton. You are, by your actions and requests, supporting the Bush has to prove he is not quilty attitude.

Last I knew in this country, you have to prove him guilty. Can't be done so the bs continues.

The reason it can't be done is because the NSA won't grant the DOJ clearances so they can perform a proper investigation!

There's got to be investigators or someone that has the proper clearances... and I'd be willing to place money that anyone leaking classified NSA info *WOULD* be spending some time in jail....

You would think so, wouldn't you? This is why DOJ gave up on the investigation. The very agency they were investigating was the one who had to give them clearance, which they would not give.

No oversight = dictatorship.

"No oversight = dictatorship"

is equally as stupid as saying...

"Accessing FBI files of and conducting false IRS audits of political opponents = dictatorship"

I'll state again... I'm sure that there are investigators that DO have the clearances to be able to get into this. Of course, that doesn't look as good in the news.... I'll be interested to see how it plays out - I really don't see the NSA being able to slide out of it if they are compiling illegal info.

Basically, our system of checks and balances has been reduced to Bush saying "just trust me" and "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain".

There is oversight, and it comes from these ladies and gentlemen. I can assure you they have access to information regarding the NSA's program, and the DOJ should have a little chat with them if the NSA isn't playing nice regarding this investigation.

"Some politician"? Don't be afraid, you can say his name. He won't bite, but he might down a couple of cold ones and shoot you in the face:D

Exactly. Can't go on facts; they have a well-known liberal bias. Which is why the administration prefers to avoid the reality-based community.

I will agree that reality is being ignored. Not by the Bush admin though.

Google phone records Bill, you can buy them your self. Calls are not being monitored now like they were by the Clinton admin and the Echelon (sp) program that 60 minutes reported on. Did you care then?

I didn't think so...

As is your "it's all Bush's fault" drone... if you don't realize by now that there's not a spit of difference between the two main parties, I pity you.

Dead on. Unfortunately he is young, not very bright, and the lawyer has his parents bamboozled and frightened. At the same time, he is charging them loads of money to poorly represent him.

My God man!!! How can they know nothing illegal happened if they can't even conduct a thorough investigation??

Let the DOJ do their job. If nothing illegal happened, so be it. But stonewalling an investigation gives an appearance of guilt.
