narcimund 0 #1 April 25, 2006 It's bad when even Fox admits he's down to a historic low of 33 percent "approval". Of course you just know they'd manage to spin it with the opening paragraph: QuotePresident Bush Isn't the Only World Leader Down in the Polls President Bush's approval rating has reached a new low of 33 percent in the latest FOX News poll, but many of his counterparts in Europe are faring even worse. foxnews.com Distract, distract, distract... Exactly HOW much can they distract? Well, I'll tell you! By the 4th paragraph they're talking about Angela Merkel's bathing suit. That's how much. rushmc 23 #5 April 25, 2006 Not too hard to understand if one watches the misleading info put out by the media. To make the point...... The media has made a big deal that there is still no government in Iraq. How many heard that this was taken care of over the weekend? See, reporting this does not back up thier agenda Flame on"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Pollster: "Are you upset about the rise in fuel prices?" Pollee: "Yes". Pollster: "How would you rate the President's job performance?" Pollee: "I'm not very happy with him right now". Considering the average American's understanding of how little effect the President and Congress can have on fuel prices, It's not too surprising. If gas prices took a downturn, Bush's job approval would go up. Can someone tell me the Democrats plan to lower fuel prices? ..........Didn't think so. -

So Bush's approval ratings are at an almost historic low because the average American is stupid? That article is some fair and balanced reporting....it read like a Jerry Springer transcript. Gravitymaster 0 #10 April 25, 2006 Not what I said at all. Just because someone doesn't understand something doesn't necessarily make them stupid. What I did say is that people don't understand that politicians can have very little influence on the price of gas and Bush's job approval is directly tied to the price of gasoline. A good example would be that just because you didn't understand my point doesn't necessarily mean I think you are stupid.

narcimund 0 #16 April 25, 2006 QuoteWas that a typo? Last poll I saw had him at 32 percent. No, it's wasn't a typo. All the news sources were quoting the Fox poll at 32%, but fox itself was reporting 33%. I looked for a higher precision number and couldn't find one so I figured I'd use the highest published number. I give the benefit of the doubt whenever there is some. Unfortunately it didn't prevent me from being called names, but at least none that actually matter. First Class Citizen Twice Over
