Andy9o8 2 #27 April 6, 2006 QuoteDems are all over Delay, but hardly a peep about McKinny. Yes, just the way the GOPers are all over McKinney, but rallied to DeLay's defense. Let me tell you why DeLay deserves the bashing he's getting from Dems. Same reason Newt Gingrich deserved it - he made a career by going out of his way to hurt and destroy people. That doesn't make him a very sympathetic character. He's dying by the sword he lived by. At least he's getting more of a chance than catching a bullet in the eye in the barber shop. Andy9o8 2 #28 April 6, 2006 I don't have much sympathy for McKinney. She's handled this in an incredibly politically stupid way. She lost her temper. Anyone can do that. She should have recognized the need to do immediate damage control, gone public saying "I lost my temper; shouldn't have done that; I'm sorry", and the most she would have gotten is pretrial diversion and eventual dismissal as a first offender. Instead, she's doing....what she's doing. Stupid, stupid.
Gravitymaster 0 #29 April 6, 2006 QuoteQuote Replay the Delay thread in the mirror.... and this is what you have. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exactly the reason I brought this up. Dems are all over Delay, but hardly a peep about McKinny. Now compare this to the way Trent lott Max Cleland Michael Steele was railroaded. Fixed it for ya! Woo hoo! Fixed it for you. We can play this all day.

Funny, most Republican's I know feel that Delay is doing the best thing for the Party. Most are also withholding judgement until all the facts are known and it goes to court. Can't say the same for the Dems, though. -
SkyDekker 1,465 #31 April 6, 2006 QuoteIf I hit an officer, I'd be taken in right there...no questions, nothing other than a Miranda warning. Booked, released, tried, and most likely found guilty. Congress has no free pass when it comes to criminal behavior. If she hit the officer - and apparently she has; even her attorney won't say she didn't... - she needs to be arrested, booked, and tried...with a jury making a decision about the "truth" of the case. This is an interesting point, and I agree with you. The question becomes, why did the officer not arrest her?
Trent 0 #32 April 6, 2006 QuoteThis is an interesting point, and I agree with you. The question becomes, why did the officer not arrest her? Hmmmm.. I thought the Dems bandwagon during the 90's was that a politicians personal life was his own business. I guess that only applies to Democrats. Difference between Newt, Lott, Delay and McKinney is they resigned because they felt that was the proper thing to do. McKinney just blames everyone else and screams "racism." -

Andy9o8 2 #36 April 6, 2006 QuoteDifference between Newt, Lott, Delay and McKinney is they resigned because they felt that was the proper thing to do. Bullshit. Same reason you didn't condemn Malkin when she called the mother of a dead US serviceman a whore, I suppose. Was it because you think she really was a whore? Or did you just not think much about the issue? There's so much crap going on today that you'd spend your entire day condemning things, if you felt it necessary to condemn every bad thing that happened. I don't. McKinney is a dolt; there are many of them out there. Forgive me if I don't list them all.
