rushmc 23 #1 March 24, 2006 If remember right many on this site condemed the Bush admin as being "evil" to censor this man! Well, the following I found on.........YES, NewsMax but it was a reprint from CNSNews. narcimund 0 #2 March 24, 2006 QuoteWell, the following I found on.........YES, NewsMax but it was a reprint from CNSNews. And it's written like a high school newspaper editorial. Oh wait, I looked at the cnsnews.com homepage. I see an animated GIF advertisement screaming, "Don't believe the liberal media lies!" And the cnsnews slogan itself is "The Right News. Right Now." Unbiased and professional ALL the WAY! Yup. Indeedy. I think we're all EXTRA impressed with your sourcing. Yup. Yup. narcimund 0 #4 March 24, 2006 QuoteBecause, of course, any news not coming from ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC is invalid.... Yum. Please put even more logical fallacies in my mouth. I've come to expect it from you. I've said many times before that major news sources produce bullshit. But this source produces a certain kind of EXTRA toxic bullshit. The original poster asked for credit for finding an objective source and I laugh at him for it. First Class Citizen Twice Over
rushmc 23 #5 March 24, 2006 I knew I should put "I await your discrediting of another news source" comment but I though I would let some one do it first. THANKS!! I know I should not post anything that does not fit your political story line......"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." wmw999 2,589 #6 March 24, 2006 Is it possible that, as an individual citizen, he agrees with, and yes, gets funding from, people who are as passionate about the subject as he is? He's a researcher. He needs grants for research. He's not likely to get a whole lot of grants from Republicans, is he? Consider the research; look at his methodology. Don't just discard everything he says because he's more liberal than you. Is everything I say about where I work suspect because I'm liberal? Wendy, I don't have any problems with what you post here. But when the story came out it was another oportunity attack Bush. I only tryed to point out that (as in any story) there is another side. Some can not allow that however, so they attack the source. A very tiring tactic IMO. wmw999 2,589 #9 March 24, 2006 Rebutting it as in saying "no, he's not liberal, he doesn't agree with Al Gore about global warming?" Ain't gonna happen. He is. Does that compromise his research? He submits his research for review. Does it rob him of the ability to be pissed about having his work censored to that degree? Everyone expects to have their stuff for publication be wordsmithed; what I saw on 60 Minutes (and heard about offline) goes beyond wordsmithing. It's also consistent with an administration that has been accused otherwise of trying to drive the wording to make a point. A free and open society lets people be disagreeable and argumentative around science, as long as they're polite about it. Once you start censoring someone, they're much less likely to be polite about it. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. dorbie 0 #10 March 24, 2006 Exactly. The sheer irrationality of the latest stunt; running to the media and saying you're not being allowed to talk to the media, never seemed to give anyone on the left pause for thought.

I personally believe that this show is the most unrealiable news magazine on any of the big three networks. And this opinion came back in the 1980's when they were doing shows on nuclear power plants. The stuff they have been putting out is always suspect IMO. You personally believe that government revenues increased due to tax cuts, when data from OMB shows revenues declining for 3 years. Your personal beliefs are not credible.... You seem to be feeding yourself with fallacies of your own creation also. QuoteThe original poster asked for credit for finding an objective source and I laugh at him for it. They did not. Instead of debating the facts and assertions of the story, you just label it bullshit because of its source. The source of the story can be important, but for you it is enough to make further discussion not necessary. That is bullshit.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. We complain about bias left and bias right, and as far as I know, the only bias the CSM has is an inability to be critical of Christian Science. All in all, I can handle that if everything else is straight reporting. I understand there's less fodder for argument (God forbid) without sensationalism, but such media offers the opportunity to actually consider what's happening without arguing over...uh...bias. Are there any other news sources that the folks here consider similar to the CSM? rlIf you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from.
