I never understood people taking their toddlers to night-time slasher flicks... or even rated 'R' movies anyway. Not to mention the sheer "piss off" factor of people having little kids kicking seats, running around, crying, talking... and not leaving or getting it under control. Bravo, random New Mexico theater! Now back to bigger and more controversial things...Oh, hello again!
Andy9o8 2 #2 March 12, 2006 A pretty decent idea. Small kids fuss, often loudly - that's what they do naturally. But I can't stand it when parents let their small kids caterwall and disrupt everyone else's dinner or movie. We raised 2 kids, and have been there done that, so I'm speaking from experience. If you have small kids, you have certain choices: 1. Don't go out to a restaurant or movie; 2. Get a sitter; or 3. Be prepared to take your kid outside if he fusses loud enough to disturb other people and you can't quiet him w/o causing a scene. If that means you and the SO have to eat or watch in shifts, oh well, that's the way it is.
ViperPilot 0 #3 March 12, 2006 Hmm, I've never had too many problems w/ kids disrupting R movies...doesn't seem like people bring their kids to those movies, at least in my observation. But I can attest to parents who let their kids do whatever the fuck they want at restaurants, in stores, etc. Parents who aren't willing to discipline their kids shouldn't have them in the first place or should just never take their kids out. It's freakin ridiculous. Whenever I have kids (no way for a looonnggg time!), if they ever started pulling shit like that, I'd drag them outside and give them something to REALLY cry about. My mom would have literally beat my ass if I pulled shit like so many kids do today.
Trent 0 #4 March 12, 2006 Here in Houston... it seems like a "bad baby" contest in these theaters. They're everywhere. Most of the theaters even say "no kids under 6 after 10PM" or something and people STILL bring them in and the theater people don't have the balls to say anything. I can count on my fingers the times I've seen a movie without any annoying kids in it. Matinees are there for a reason. So are VCRs and DVD players.Oh, hello again!
