A service obligation for young adults

OK, who are you serving when you are in physics or math class at school?

It's certainly not myself, even though I enjoyed my physics and math class. :P

The point that I was making throughout the thread (as you well know) was the "involuntary" portion, and you are focussing (or trying to refocus) on the "servitude" portion. Stalemate.

Can you dispute the fact that the students are forced to go to school under threat of punishment or harm if they do not comply?

School is involuntary in the lower grades for sure, but still not "servitude".

You're all getting bogged down in semantics at the expense of analyzing policy.

I don't think "policy" is really the right word here. It's more constitutional allegory.

And 'analyzing' is a bit strong too. I think it's more of a quasi-mental mastabatory activity for the bored. Fake intellectual patting oneself on the back as it were.

Let's not even get into your use of the word "bogged" it's more like froze up, or stuck-in-the-mud.

And you used the word "word", even though they were discussing analogies. That's very confusing.

But I like how you use 'semantics' as a comparison of the pointless discussion.

Yes, very time consuming......

I know what a mastaba is, but I cannot figure out what "mastabatory" means... :P
