You don't really seem to have as much compassion for that person. I dont care what he did in the past or who he is anymore. He is a piece of shit in my mind. He took advantage of the system that he was supposed to be in for the people and turned it into what could he get out of it. I wish more of these SOB's would be walking the same line as he is now. My sentence for everybody guilty would be at least 20 years in federal pound you in the ass prison. I'm just happy he didnt have 10 years of trials and appeals. He admitted his guilt and took the punishment. If it was only that easy all the time. WOW....You believe that someone convicted of a crime like this deserves to be raped in prison for 20 years? Would you apply the same standard to a woman who was convicted of theft? Should part of her sentence be to submit to a daily raping by the guards? Would you want our lawmakers to pass laws that requires sentences for certain crimes to involve sexual assault in prison? It's actually amazing how common the phrase "Federal pound me in the ass prison" is. I just view posts like that as revealing a bit too much about the poster's prison anal rape fantasies and move on. It doesn't deserve insightful debate, and expecting a lucid response is futile.
dontbounce 0 #29 March 7, 2006 Quote but I also believe it's the rotten system of the beltway that can lead good, honest men down a gilded path of corruption. Republicans always bitch when democrats blame society for the situations that cause people to commit crime... I find it ironic that you use the same ploy to defend a reublican that was caught receiving MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in bribes. He was dirty. He will be known as the most corrupt official EVER in the history of politics. When we have democrats getting busted over a $50.00 golf trip paid by a lobbyist, he got a friggin $300,000 ROLLS-ROYCE. (Oct. 13) -- Federal, state, and local officials are gathering information about allegations of voter registration fraud that were first raised Channel 8 Eyewitness News. An employee of a private voter registration firm alleges that his bosses trashed registration forms filled out by Democratic voters because they only wanted to sign up Republican voters. Bush Official Arrested in Corruption Probe By R. An exhaustive investigation has turned up a link between current Florida Republican Representative Tom Feeney, a customized Windows-based program to suppress Democratic votes on touch screen voting machines, a Florida computer services company with whom Feeney worked as a general counsel and registered lobbyist while he was Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, and top level officials of the Bush administration. George Ryan indicted on corruption charges By Debbie Howlett, USA TODAY CHICAGO — Former Illinois governor George Ryan, who gained national prominence when he imposed a moratorium on the death penalty and later cleared out Illinois' death row, was indicted Wednesday on federal racketeering, fraud and conspiracy charges. The indictment alleges that Ryan, a Republican, awarded lucrative government contracts and leases to family and associates; accepted cash payments, vacations and gifts from state contractors, and lied to FBI agents in an effort to obstruct the investigation. The indictment alleges the acts spanned his career as secretary of state and governor. "Basically, the state of Illinois was for sale to family and friends," U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said. Guest 1010 #39 March 8, 2006 I haven't read the thread ... while it is nice to think that only the "other" side is full of crooks, its just not true. Corruption doesn't know political boundries. If the Demos figure out how to win a few elections, you'll have similar stories in a couple years just with the Rs and Ds switched. Will you be defending them then, or will you be tying to get rid of the crooks in your party? The Repubicans generally do a better job of eating their own then the Demos (Nixon, Agnew, many others, and now Cunningham tossed by the Repubs, vs. the crook Clinton saved by the Demos). You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.

dontbounce 0 #41 March 8, 2006 Quote Corruption doesn't know political boundries. I agree. There are dirty Democrats too. Thats not the issue. The issue is the unprecedented scope, depth and scale of the corruption of the GOP in the last 8 years. Quote "If the Demos figure out how to win a few elections"... Don't worry. With 75% of the GOP either in "Federal Pound-Your-Ass Prison" or under indictment, it shouldn't be too hard, as long as the voting machines are not rigged again... Unless they 'upgrade' the software in the e-voting machines before 2008, George Bush will win again in 2008 with 52% of the vote... Hmmm... Quote Will you be defending them then, or will you be tying to get rid of the crooks in your party? A crook is a crook, and we should nail them regardless of party. I am just seeing a trend here that Republicans have run amok, and they don't even bother hiding it anymore. They think that they are untouchable. Maybe they are. After all, the system is so polluted now that we can't even trust our government to govern itself (without getting permission from Halliburton, Exxon, or Jack Abramoff first), much less the rest of the country...
