peacefuljeffrey 0 #51 February 16, 2006 QuoteNegative. Jeffrey, I don't believe the Bible states "church" is a man made idea. Um, dear, the Bible itself has been passed down to us by the very people I'm indicting as wishing to control and profit. If the Bible were written by God's own hand, that would be something different altogether. You are attempting to use as proof something that depends for its own credibility on the thing you wish to prove. The Bible is the tool of the people who want to control and profit from those who believe. They're playin' ya'll for a bunch of saps! Answer this question: If you followed the ten commandments and lived a "godly" life, and "spoke" with God regularly, but never went to church, would you be welcomed into heaven or not? I have heard people say that Christ himself did not want people to "follow" him as a religion. What of that? All this pomp and circumstance built up around the Christian religions is MAN-MADE, and it was ORDERED-UP by MAN, NOT GOD. QuoteThere are a lot of rules I don't agree with that some churches follow, but I also don't believe every church out there really preaches God's Holy Word... How the HELL would one tell the difference?! Quote**People can think what they like about their definition of church, as they know it, as they've experienced it...but I have been to some amazing churches where I felt God's presence in a powerful way. Because you were in a building? More than you'd feel in God's SKY on a SKYDIVE, where it's just you and him?? --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" Muenkel 0 #52 February 17, 2006 QuoteNEVER stop believing! Read the book of "Job". God let the devil put some heavy hurt on him, and he never quit believing. Most people have a hard time pinning down when they started to believe, and most will tell you that they have for as long as they can remember. I believe that we are in a time of polarization. I feel the doubt at times myself, but you can't give in. For the athesist...My words are based on faith. A faith that has always come through for me in the end. You can smack me with the science books, and tell me that I have "invisible friends", but it won't change the fact that I know there is a God. Very nicely put! Chris You can call it "knowing" all you want. It's still not "knowing." It's "believing, without evidence or proof." How can anyone call that "knowing"? At most, it could be called "intuiting." I personally would never believe in a god that does the petty, ridiculous things that this judeo-christian god is supposed to have done. Why play this silly soap opera? God's all-powerful, why does he have to have this contest with the devil for the souls of mankind. Is he just bored? With a thought, he could unmake all he has made, and that would include satan. To pretend that he "needs" people is just absurd. What would anyone "need" out of people if one could will anything to be? --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind...
