Prophet cartoons and american guests

Recommended Posts

Yo!

A peculiar coincidence has occured in the last few days.

Muslims all over the world staged violent protests over a few Prophet Muhammad cartoons. They failed to see the message and sarcasm of the cartoons, and considered them blasphemy. Many muslims have been known to dance on the streets celebrating 9/11 and post videos of americans being beheaded. Naturally, this is very barbaric.

Many american guests of this forum have protested violently over a sarcastic suggestion of posting a video of US choppers being shot down. The same guests have been known to post videos of US choppers shredding human beings to bits, and hooraying over it. Unexpectedly, this is very barbaric.

It is quite sad to find equally blind fanatics on both sides of the fence.

As an interesting side note, many ex US Army guys have lowered themselves to a primitive level offering "ass kicking". One could guess that it goes with the trade, especially when blinded by emotions and unable to see through them. Ass kicking could be a viable protest option in Russia (if you have the right conections) but in this country (US, that is) violence is reserved for the dumbest of human beings. Aside from going against every principal and law the country was founded upon, it will inevitably turn an offender into a concealed carry victim (a fine example for gun threads in this forum) and, surviving that, land him behind bars. Quite an irony, as most such unfortunates would be gun nuts supporting the toughest crime laws.

Finally, assumption is a mother of all fuckups. Before you reply and make a fool of yourself, breath deeply and digest a few facts:

Russia has suffered from muslim extremists quite a bit more than US did. There is no love for fanatics over there. I personally hate fanatics. Sitting half a mile from White House target keeps those feelings fresh. First 9/11 planes destroyed the objects i have dreamed to jump. 3rd impacted 2 miles away from me, and i was within shrapnel radius of the likely 4th target. However i believe that US actions in Iraq are increasing the risks to me personally and to the world as a whole, aside from being evil on a basic human level of killing tens thousands "for their own good". Like i said, i hate fanatics - on both sides.

Big politics are dry, practical and immoral. The whole Middle Eastern affair is a global battle for limited resources between US, Russia, Europe, China etc. You deal with people you hate and you kill those you like, as needed. Any fresh kid playing a strategy game will know it. Unfortunately there are few fresh kids left. US is going for oil, whatever it takes, and so do other countries. Major PR effort is required to substitute this unpleasant truth with sweet lies acceptable to the general public.

Brainwashing is alive and well in US. Watching the USSR propaganda machine desintegrate first hand, i was amazed to see it alive and working well, word by word, in US. It has intensified in the last few years. A majority of population, unable to get a fresh look from outside, succumb to the spoon-fed emotional information, instead of digging for facts and using dry logic. This is very obvious for anybody outside of US, but about 50% of the local population remains happily oblivious to rather simple facts of life.

Oh, and regarding the guest remarks... just do not assume. I will be peacefully voting current nuts out of the office in the next elections, just like Founding Fathers intended.

It's okay. Muslims have a tendency to kill EACH OTHER when they're pissed off. (Oh, and also when they go on religious pilgrimages.)

Usually the people who suffer most when muslims get pissed off are the muslims themselves.

Posters of this forum have "protested VIOLENTLY"?

Done actual physical violent acts? Like hit people? Break things? Just what are you accusing people here of having done because of this video?

Yeah, there seems to be more & more entrenchment on both sides.:(

Right now, I just don't see the problems with the "Danish Boycott", but perhaps this is based on ignorance - I always thought that Denmarks principal exports were Pork-Products and Pornography! I didn't really see much of a Muslim market for either. Also, I don't see Carlsberg Beer doing too well in a culture which prohibits alcohol.

Just a stray thought... If they chop your hands off for stealing, do you suppose they'd liposuction your beer gut away if they caught you drinking?

They buy a lot of dairy products from us, so a Danish company has had to shut down a factory... in Riyadh. :S The only people who have lost jobs at this point are Saudis.

As for the the original poster of this thread... I am not sure what he's trying to say.

Does anyone have the actual cartoons?

Yep

The link is a list of depictions of Mohammed. The cartoons are under the headline "The Jyllands-Posten Cartoons".

Oh, those friday night drinks... :)
I should have simply said that a few american guests of this forum are ignorant twin brothers of muslim extremists they dislike so much.

ah how we forget what the Russians do with muslims extremists....anyone here hear of beslan?.....anyone hear of Chechnya?....Afghanistan?... btw I bet you didnt realize in order to get a terrorist to surrender they found his uncle chopped him to pieces and sent the box with the remains to the terrorist intead of the food that was requested( by the way it worked you see they also told the terrorist the rest of his family no matter how distant would all receive the same fate)
Burying muslims in pig hides? ass facing mecca?
lets see ....exploding dolls dropped in afghanistan?
strafing women and children?...
I can go on with atrocities by nearly any country
I want to know exactly why non americans go on about our digressions and seem to think that non americans are the only moral people ?

BTW if the United States of America is sooooo fucking awful then why would any of you who aren't a citizen want to be here?

and in closing Violence is not always the best alternative...just sometimes it's the only thing that an asshole who is running his mouth will understand.

case in point: Some people feel they can say anything they like and nobody can stop them.
I propose this if you feel that the above is a correct statement then you don't agree that mouthing off to the wrong individual can get you turned into nothing more than a stool processor hooked up to life support in some hospital somewhere until they unplug your sorry ass.:|

I agree with the first sentence.
And I agree with the second one BECAUSE I agree with the first one.:)

What you are trying to do (stand by your friends whether they are right or wrong) could be an honorable thing. Unfortunately you do it in a barbaric, unintelligent and anti-American way that negates any of your good intentions.

This is what Constitution says. If you do not believe in it you are not worth being a citizen.

A wonderful piece of blabbery. If you live in this country, please learn some English ;)

Try to break the law and go against Constitution, and you will find yourself shot, jailed and laughed at in the next gun thread.

Really? Are you sure about that? Under the US consitiution you can incite murder and incite racist hatred? If that is not the case then you are wrong and people can't just go around saying whatever they want.

your powers of perception are faulty at best.
You don't know me and the fact you can judge someones intelligence without knowing anything at all is simply amazing:|

and in closing I would like to say congrats on the fact you feel intellectually superior to every living being on earth, its obvious you know everything there is to know you're fucking omnipotent

Deserve the right to criticize others?

In my book, everyone has that right. No matter if it sounds like they are being pompous or not (no inference intended).

In fact, you are criticizing him for criticizing.

And especially:

"This is what Constitution says. If you do not believe in it you are not worth being a citizen."

the constitution doesn't say you can say "anything
you like" it says it guarantees the freedom of speech.

here are some thing you may want to do in an effort to prove you can say absolutely anything

1. trying yelling BOMB in an airport.

2. better yet since you may be close to the "creek" go over there and say you love seeing navy seals killed by terrorists and their pics posted on the net.

3. go to any dz the day after a fatality and say you hope a few people go in today and you brought your camcorder just in case. then go get on a load or leave your gear unattended.

It may have been a better choice to just address the fact you didn't like the cheering of deaths, instead of saying something you know will only anger people who have served in the american military or people who just plain give a shit.

As for anyone saying I don't deserve to be a citizen I will think of your saying so the next time I have to go to the VA hospital for treatment. THANKS!:|

Freedoms come with responsibility to not abuse them and to use them intelligently. The petulant and childish concept that we can "Say anything we like and nobody can stop them" is the biggest issue of the abuse of our rights in today's world. I really doubt that much of the application of the speech today is anything like the concept intended.

Mangling the right to public speech by spewing nonsense and hate really dilutes that right to the point of a joke. Our right to intelligent and respectful exchange of ideas is a mockery now. In otherwords, the few are ruining it for those that do understand.

And we still have to defend those few, even with the damage they do, because that's also something the founders did intend.

We're getting close to that point of freedom of speech being weak and a real mockery. Look at how it's being used as a protective cloak by idiots that wouldn't chance a hangnail to protect that right if push really came to shove.

Edit: Oh, examples: 1 - idiots wearing t-shirts in Congress instead making reasonable arguments (lazy and childish); 2 - children arguing over dress codes at schools (childish, by definition); 3 - so called "artists" petulantly insulting the strongly held beliefs of others, for the purpose of offending, not for the purpose of exchange of thoughts 3 is enough. Let's see if we can all come up with some other examples. Yet we should defend these 'expressions' as the right thing to do, these expressions are sophomoric misapplications of what should be valuable, not just the right to blatantly offend and shock.

A right is not a right if it is circumscribed by rules that limit it. It is none of your business if other people exercise their rights in ways that you find inappropriate or offensive. The right not to be offended is not found anywhere that I know about.
