QuoteQuoteI am yet to see any right winger show some remorse for the innocents killed in Irak.
Are you fucking kidding me? You would call me a "right winger" and yet you think I don't give a flying fuck about innocent people dying? Bullshit. It's horrible to see children, women and men killed or mamed who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hate to see death. Nonetheless, collateral damage is a part of war that has always existed and will continue to exist for eternity. There's no way to avoid it. However, it'd sure be nice if the media would report what we ACTUALLY do instead of 1/2 stories and journalized bullshit. War sucks, people die...good and bad. But as far as collateral damage goes, we do FAR FAR less of it than the media tells everyone. But don't worry, you don't have to believe me, no one will unless they actually live it. I'm still young, but my view and feelings have changed much...I don't want to see anyone die, but at the same time, I have no fucking problem turning a bunch of terrorists into mist.
See, that is the fucking problem. Expressions like the ones in bold seems to me like just excuses...
I don´t have any problem with turning terrorist into mist (Provided we agree on who is a terrorist and who is not), but to me, relaying on intelligence to blow up a terrorist in a house with an unmaned predator is a very poor way to keep collateral damage to a minimum.
Still i am waiting for a right winger to admit that the last incident was a royal fuck up with no excuses by the U.S. military.
QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteI realized this morning that some individuals posting on these forums are in our country as guests and think its funny when US Servicemen are killed.
¿Have you ever heard of collateral damage?
I am yet to see any right winger show some remorse for the innocents killed in Irak.
EDIT: Fuckit. Cowardly countries are not worth the effort to show them as such...
P.S. If you're going to talk about a country, learn to fucking spell its name correctly.
Temper temper. Is your Spanish in as great shape as his English?
Yes. I was hired to my current job partly to assist in serving Spanish-speaking policy holders.
I doubt it, if you knew a bit of spanish, you would realize that i spelled Irak correctly, in my language.

In German, we call it Irak too,

For that matter I dont think killing anyone is funny I personally find it repugnant but have no problem doing it given the proper situation...
A for people being chickenhawks, I am unashamed that I have served my country. I still have the injuries to prove it...I will continue to feel the same way regardless

QuoteNo I agree that some US servicemen are assholes... but that's not what was being discussed it was geared towards those who think killing American soldiers is funny in any way shape or form.
The person you are referring to has since explained that what he meant was that he thought the video posted was distasteful. He just though he'd "respond in kind". He has a valid point, although I think he could have made it a little more... subtle.

As it should be.
QuoteA for people being chickenhawks...
OK, would someone please explain to me what this expression means? I've seen it referred to a couple of times here. What does it mean, and which connotations does it have?
“I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.”
- Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Why does American-ness come into it? Isn't killing anyone an inappropriate cause for mirth?

QuoteProbably referring to how after one bombing the entire country of Spain dropped to its knees, rolled over for the terrorists and went to a socialist government.
The Spanish voted out the conservatives for a number of reasons. The ones pertinent to this discussion are:
- The decision to back the invasion of Iraq was not supported by a majority of the populace. When a government does things that are against the wishes of the people, they can get voted out of office. That's how a democracy works.
- The conservative government lied to the people of Spain, blaming Eta and suppressing evidence that the bombing was Al'Quaida-related. This came to light just before the election and the resulting wave of anger sealed the fate of the conservatives.
So, in short, it was the conservative government's handling of the situation, and not a rolling over in submission that won the socialist government the election.

In that same vein then, what should be said of the US pulling its forces out of Lebanon in 1983 after a truck suicide bombing? I myself would not call it the US dropping to its knee or rolling over. I do not believe the Marines nor the US government were cowards. I believe it had more to do with taking a second look at the mission, its goal, and how it applied to national interest. Could it be that Spain reacted the same way the US did in 1983?

Our intel is incredibly good and accurate, but of course you like to believe the shitbag media, so go right ahead Mr. I'm an expert on war. And since when have I advocated the predator? FUCK THAT THING!

royal fuck up eh? Take a look at that link. Oh, and take a look at the photos attached and tell those kids helping them is a royal fuck up. Tell it to their face...tell them they're worth shit to you and you would rather sit behind a computer and bitch about something you know absolutely NOTHING about while at least some decent Americans help them as much as possible. Tell me right now how worthless those kids are to you, tell me!
QuotePulling troops is hardly a comparison to completely changing the political structure of an entire state. Apples and oranges there.
I would hardly call it a complete change of political structure. Much like going from Democrats to Republicans is not a radical change in political structure in the US.
However, I do give credit to Reagan in 83/84 for having the foresight to understand that the situation as it stood then could not in any way benefit neither the US nor his administration, and that sticking around could become a major political (and human) liability.
Could it be that Spanish voters felt that way as well? I can't speak for them, but calling them cowards for making a democratic decision seems a little unfair to me.

The Spanish appear to be smarter than Americans. Iraq has become a huge political and human liability for the USA too. "W" sure ain't a Reagan.

People who are guests should be gratefull for being allowed in and should be sent back to whatever shithole they came from if they do not respect the sacrifices of servicemen who die.
Unfortunately, political correctness would never allow that to happen. Apparently special interest groups are more important than veterans.
The troops deserve far better!

Hmmm... Is that what really happened?
How did Spain drop to its knee and roll over for the terrorists?
