Gravitymaster 0 #2 January 28, 2006 QuoteI like them cold, and find a lackluster appreciation for them when they are room-temperature. - I'm a Cashew man myself. Do you like them salted or unsalted?
peacefuljeffrey 0 #3 January 28, 2006 If you mean cashews, then only lightlly salted. I haven't had macadamia nuts anything but salted. Oh, you know, Mauna Loa packages a macadamia-cashew combo can now. Used to be only macadamias. The funny thing is, as much as I like each kind of nut, I like them taken separately. The flavors don't mix particularly well, in my taste. --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
Gravitymaster 0 #4 January 28, 2006 I don't like mixing up my nuts either. I like them both ways, either salted or unsalted. Except peanuts. They have to be salted or I can't eat them. And I like them better in the shell.

And I like them better in the shell. My favorite ice creams have chunky things in them, and the best chunky things for ice cream are, of course, nuts. If I get an ice cream that has great stuff in it but none of it is chunky or very crunchy at all, I take UNsalted dry roasted peanuts, place them on a paper towel on a cutting board, and crush them into tiny pieces with a rolling pin. (Amazingly, it's the rolling pin that was under the cupboard in my family's house since probably before I was born! Yay for ice cream! --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind...
