flyangel2 2 #1 January 13, 2006 Wonder how many sex offenders will not register because they can't afford the fee? http://9news.com/acm_news.aspx?OSGNAME=KUSA&IKOBJECTID=c213dee1-0abe-421a-0023-fbf5d05e4197&TEMPLATEID=0c76dce6-ac1f-02d8-0047-c589c01ca7bf AURORA - The City of Aurora is considering charging sex offenders registration fees to help cover the cost of processing new offenders. The initial proposal would be to charge a $125 fee when they register and a $60 re-registration fee that could be charged several times a year. Currently, there is no sex offender registration fee and the city must cover the costs. The council subcommittee believes the proposed fees are too low and has asked the city staff to examine actual costs of the sex-offender program. The executive director of the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program says it supports the city's need to cover its costs as long as it doesn't discourage offenders from registering.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. They have an option??? The way I read that statement was that they are willing to charge the fee so long as the sex offenders don't use it as an excuse not to register. The fee might open up a door to give them an excuse not to register, she just said it nicer then me.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
