Vote for me" And the others will say "I voted for decency and to protect the Internet from terrorist attacks. Vote for me." After all, it's a _decency_ law! so right, whichever way their constituent base leans, they can leverage this one for votes ... SkyDekker 1,465 #53 January 10, 2006 QuoteWhen it becomes a crime in the US to publicize a statement like "I hate fags", I say we change that line to something more Canada-like. Since you annoyed me with that post and you do not have your full name in your profile page, you just committed a crime. Start changing the line to something more Canada-like...whatever that means. At least I am free to annoy you in all anonimity
gmanpilot 0 #54 January 10, 2006 QuoteAnnoying someone via the Internet is now a federal crime. As a citizen and someone who could potentially be called upon to enforce this inane piece of legislation, I find it totally absurd. I do, however, find someone who makes annoying and anonymous usenet posts to be in a different class and category than someone who broadcasts anonymous and annoying messages to my inbox. Is there a way to prohibit the sending of email spam without infringing upon 1st Amendment protections? I dunno. Personally, I find direct mail and flyers offering salvation placed under my wiper blade to be just as offensive. I don't mind someone preaching hell, fire, and damnation on the street corner and handing out flyers. I might even take one for sport, but don't put that trash on my car!_________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
