SpeedRacer 1 #7 December 21, 2005 who cares?? most of the gung ho pro war types do not know how to pronounce "Iraq" as it is right now. They keep pronouncing it "eye-rack" Which kind of reflects the same type of mentality that caused much of the USA to elect a president who asked Muslims to join us in a "crusade" against terrorists, while trying to tell them it wasn't a war against Islam. shit is it possible that we may have elected a president who understood so little about the outside world, that he didn't understand that just POSSIBLY the word " Crusade" might have negative connotations among Muslim people???? for the record, I know it isn't a war against Islam, but if Dumbya had ventured out of the USA even once before becoming president, he might have become a little more savvy re. the outside world. WTf is so offensive about having a president of the USA who is smart?????? Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
RossDagley 0 #8 December 21, 2005 QuoteWTf is so offensive about having a president of the USA who is smart?????? If you empower a 'smart' president, he might have the nerve to attempt to make his own decisions. And americans dont ant that. Oh no indeedy.
miked10270 0 #9 December 21, 2005 QuoteWTf is so offensive about having a president of the USA who is smart?????? Absolutely nothing!!! Unfortunately "Smart as an option doesn't seem to have been included in your recent choices! Clinton was professionally smart (despite his personal life being "entertaining"). George H.W. Bush was similarly smart, if not as smart as Ronald Reagan (who was definitely the right man for the right job at the right timeDiving "off-topic" for a while I feel like a quick eulogy for the original "Gang of Four" to whom we owe so much! Mikhail Gorbachev. Ronald Reagan. Margaret Thatcher. Karol Wojtyla. And of course... Miklos Nemeth as "Best Supporting Actor" Well done to all. Mike. Adriandavies 0 #10 December 21, 2005 Do you really think that is a possibility? Most people from Iraq are Sunni or Kurdish muslims not Shiites, although Shias dominate the south of the counrty. Iraq is an Arab and Kurdish country whilst Iran is Persian. The languages are also different with Iranians speaking Farsi and the Iraqis speaking Arabic. The only thing which is similar between the countries is a shared adherence to Islam in general albeit different sects.

Oh PLEASE Dont try to confuse these people with facts... their heads will start spiining around and green pea soup shit will start gushing out. The best thing for that whole region would be a complete realignment of the borders to encompass the tribal/religious sect differences that exist. Kurdistan Let the Kurds have their own country.. take a small chunk of Iran.. a larger chunk of Turkey and the existing Kurdish areas of current Iraq....Not that the Turks would ever let that happen.. they have been murdering Kurds for centuries within their realm. ShiahStan Let the Shiah's of the south have their own country in the south. Religeously they would align with other Shiah's in Iran but they are their own distinct culture. SunniStan Then the Sunnis can do whatever the hell they want over in the Al Anbar Province which is the largest land area of current Iraq anyway. After we leave this is what is going to happen anyway.

The Shiites are the plurality in Iraq and they seem to have come out quite well in the recent elections: http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1577875,00050004.htm. True there are cultural differences between them an the Iranians (which the Bush administration never hesitates to stress), but after all is said and done, we would be talking about two Shiite dominated, fundamentalist Islamic regimes. This guy's rising influence and close ties to Iran also leads me to be very suspicious of Iran's role and endgame in Iraq.
