More seriously, as I posted in the other thread, an idiot suffers from ignorance. I hope the repost police don't get me:

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, or a willful lack of desire to improve the efficiency, merit, effectiveness or usefulness of one's actions. [emphasis supplied]

For example, there are at least two people is at least one person posting in the "other" thread who are is not on "my side" of the argument. I don't think they're idiots he's an idiot, even though they have both he has posted some things to which I most assuredly object.

On the other hand, there was at least one person in that thread who appeared ignorant in the first sense, but when presented with evidence contrary to his deeply held beliefs, he at least tried to find some way to reconcile it, even if the attempt was somewhat inelegant.

I don't think he got the appreciation he deserved for the effort he made.
