A bizarre story from Pakistan

Recommended Posts

The following poem made its way into the national curriculum in Pakistan.

THE LEADER by anonymous...

Patient and steady with all he must bear,
Ready to meet every challenge with care,
Easy in manner, yet solid as steel,
Strong in his faith, refreshingly real.
Isn't afraid to propose what is bold,
Doesn't conform to the usual mould,
Eyes that have foresight, for hindsight won't do,
Never backs down when he sees what is true,
Tells it all straight, and means it all too.
Going forward and knowing he's right,
Even when doubted for why he would fight,
Over and over he makes his case clear,
Reaching to touch the ones who won't hear.
Growing in strength he won't be unnerved,
Ever assuring he'll stand by his word.
Wanting the world to join his firm stand,
Bracing for war, but praying for peace,
Using his power so evil will cease,
So much a leader and worthy of trust,
Here stands a man who will do what he must.

"The education ministry said it would remove the poem from the textbook and discipline the person responsible for including it. "

Err... OK...

But what does the first letter of each line spell in Pakistani?...

Perhaps...:P

Open and helpful to those of the faith,
Steadfast and sure in the path he must take.
Always willing to help the needy,
Mighty and true against the greedy.

Able to guide, uplift and inspire,
Brave and bold, baptized by fire.
Immaculate to all those that believe,
Noble and gracious to the bereaved.

Looking towards a fair and just world,
Always God guides his every word.
Deeply loving, yet able to anger,
Evading the evil and foolish men’s danger.

Never despairing of proving he’s right,
Firm and steadfast throughout the fight.
Uplifting and strong, the more to inspire,
Courageous and brave in fighting the liar.

Kind and caring to the people,
Embracing a lifelong hatred of evil.
Deft and skilled in the course of the struggle,
Young and old must bear with him his trouble.

Only this man will fight for what’s true,
Until justice and peace is won for you.
Great and bold in every deed,
Ennobled by those in true and dire need.

Open and good to true believers,
Rage and fire was rained on the evil.
Great are his deeds, provoking our love,
Ever inspiring the fight for the good.

Incidentally.... If anyone wants to include this in an American Schoolbook.... I'll err... Take my royalties in cash. Ta!

Mate, if you wrote that you deserve a fucking comedy medal.

Err... Great. Extra shiny one please.

Actually, the overriding thoughts during the 20 or so minutes it took me to compose it was: "Will the royalties pay for a VERY deep fallout bunker... Or should I just go for the straight identity change?"

Don't want to suddenly find ourselves on one of those US Government holidays, do we?

Naah... It all sounds a bit "Club 18-30"ish to me.

I mean... OK, it's cheap, but you fly out at some ungodly hour to a hot sun-drenched place in the middle of nowhere, then they torture you with Lap-Dancers and force alcohol into you.":o

Wait a minute... [SANITY CHECK!].... Lap Dancers, Sun & Alcohol...>:(

DEATH TO AMERICA!!! OSAMA IS MY FRIEND!!! BUSH MUST DIE!!!

The US Government should count me as available for this particular freebie anytime they like!:D:ph34r: If it helps I'll even promise to say it was hell; I may get skin cancer from the Sunbathing, and I felt degraded by all the Lapdancers, Loose Women & Alcohol being forced on me.:P:P:P:P:P
