I just think it's a bad choice, but then I remember 1969 really very well. I guess you weren't around then.

I was 11. I remember it pretty well--11 year olds aren't stupid, by any means. Still, I'm living here near Daytona, and I have a pretty good view of how bikers have evolved in the past 36 years.

How long does reproach last?

"I feel sorry for his children. To be raised so diluted from the truth and so alienated from society has got to be painful when (or if) they get to realize it. "

Most of his children have willingly joined his cause. They are as bad as he is.

He leads his cult for a cause which has nothing to do with religion. If the media would not give him any publicity, it would strike a death blow to his organization. He is a disbarrred attorney who found other sheep to fleece.

I intend to live forever -- so far, so good.

They may say the are willingly joining him, but how long was he teaching this hatred to them at home?

It is just as bad as the White Power zealot who teaches his children all people of other color are inferior. That child may be a willing follower as an adult too. But the biased was still taught as a child.

At least, using his rational, he will not be lonely in haites, he will have his whole family with him.

Maybe they have evolved. I still find it a very strange choice to use bikers in the role of peacekeepers. I would also find it strange to use skydivers or rock climbers in that role, and they don't have a skeleton in the closet.

You're right, it is kind of strange. But they're the ones who stepped up and offered to do it. Maybe it's because they are making an effort to "appear above reproach" to try and overcome the stereotyped view of them, that you are demonstrating quite well.

Maybe we should to take the word "biker" out of it.

Maybe use the term "Motorcyclist", or "supporter of the greaving who rides a motorcycle" or a combination of that.

The way they get to the funeral is not relavent.

If you read the news links from either web sight it even shows "Truckers" helped to block the hecklers from the funeral.

Plus, unlike the "protesters" the "Motorcyclists who support the greaving" happened to be invited.

I haven't seen any of the news agencies make the "biker" conection as we have here. Maybe it is a very out dated biased?

You're talking about a group of people who, as a whole, do a lot of charity work. You can google for it, but we have runs down here all the time for various good causes, and of course, they regularly do "Toys for Tots" runs at Christmas.

This is just one more example of donating to a good cause.

I would use anyone who can be organized into a peaceful group to achieve the end desired--in this case, an undisrupted funeral for a dead soldier.

Did you people even follow the links and read the details? Or did you just make a bunch of assumptiong. Maybe you should actually know what you are talking about instead of making suppostions and baseless accusations.

Sure are a lot of bikers your age and in your income bracket. Maybe you should shit-can that MG, get a Harley, a fireams permit, and become a peacekeeper for weekends:)

I don't find it strange at all. I have ridden in "Rolling Thunder" several times and the Military gets a huge amount of support from bikers. There were about 500K bikes participating in 2005.
Just today my local club participated in the towns Christmas Parade and we also have a ride to deliver toys we collect to disadvantaged children. The rider on the lead bike dresses like Santa Claus and the others dress as Santas Elves. The look on the kids faces would bring tears to your eyes.

You are absolutely correct about people stereotyping bikes. Those who do show a great ignorance.
