kallend 2,175 #1 November 27, 2005 At the request of security officials, the FAA has issued a temporary flight restriction (TFR) over St. Michaels, Maryland, because Vice President Dick Cheney is buying a home in the area. However, unlike the TFRs over the vice president's residence in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this TFR will be in effect all the time, even when Cheney is not there. And the FAA has indicated to AOPA that the agency will be working on establishing a prohibited area over the Maryland residence.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. No, but you congress is your representative within the government and can address issues such as this on your behalf. If they fail to do so, you can express your displeasure with their performance by voting for someone else. This is H.S. level government stuff. Jumper03's suggestion was "Failing that" ( "that" clearly refers to your suggestion that I write to the congressman), then I should vote him out of office. I don't see why I should vote him out of office if I fail to write to him.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. I took it to mean that if writing your congressman fails, then vote them out. I could very well be wrong though. Quote You infer something that isn't there AGAIN. Sufficient reason in my book to vote his/her bottom out of office. No issue with that. Have you ever written to your congressman or senator? I have, and the only one to respond with anything other than a form letter full of platitude was one (Sen. Durbin of Illinois) I had spoken to in person just two days before. Following your suggestion, I reckon every last one of them would be voted out of office.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
