Cheney to John Edwards, October 6, 2004 Cheney had met Edwards at least three times before: at a prayer breakfast in 2001, at Elizabeth Dole's swearing-in ceremony in 2003, and backstage at Meet the Press. Ooops! "I have not suggested there's a connection between Iraq and 9/11..." Cheney, October 6, 2004 "[Iraq is] the geographical base of the terrorists who had us under assault for many years, but most especially on 9-11." Cheney, Sept 2003 Oooops. "We’ve never let up on Osama bin Laden from day one." Cheney, Vice Presidential Debate, 10/5/04 "I just don’t spend that much time on him really, to be honest with you. I…I truly am not that concerned about him." G. Bush, Cheney's boss, 3/13/02 Oooops. BORGER: "Well, let's get to Mohamed Atta for a minute because you mentioned him, as well. You have said in the past that it was, quote, 'pretty well confirmed.'" CHENEY: “No, I never said that.” - CNBC interview, 6/20/04 “It's been pretty well confirmed that [Atta] did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April, several months before the attack.” Cheney, 12/9/01 Oooops Josef Goebbels could have learned a thing or two from Cheney about the big lie.... You have said in the past that it was, quote, “pretty well confirmed” CHENEY: No, I never said that. BORGER: OK. CHENEY: I never said that. BORGER: I think that is— CHENEY: Absolutely not. What I said was the Czech intelligence service reported after 9/11 that Atta had been in Prague on April 9 of 2001, where he allegedly met with an Iraqi intelligence official. We have never been able to confirm that nor have we been able to knock it down, we just don't know Compare that to his 2001 statement (posted previously) where he said "“It's been pretty well confirmed that [Atta] did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April, several months before the attack.” A statement he then denied to Borger. kallend 2,175 #8 November 18, 2005 Here's more of the transcript of the Borger interview: BORGER: Well, let’s get to Mohamed Atta for a minute because you mentioned him as well. Why do you feel the need to apologize and make excuses for these liars?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
billvon 3,132 #9 November 18, 2005 >Your examples pale in comparison . . . So, in summary, Cheney lied, but other people lied more? Fair enough, and a fine example of the two-party "your guy sucks more" line of thinking. >This is a diplomatic "no-no" . . . To continue in "the other side is worse" thing, it's a bigger diplomatic no-no to use Veteran's Day to attack your political opponents. And Bush is using this trip as well to attack democrats, so he should not expect them to show more restraint than he does.

And Bush is using this trip as well to attack democrats, so he should not expect them to show more restraint than he does. As long as the political bickering is done on our own soil, I could care less about what day it is. You obviously buy Sen. Reid's comments about the Veteran's Day speech then. When the President is over seas, the sh*t that's going on now is put on pause, period. The Republicans, as much as they fired onto President Clinton's plate, didn't do this. No one did it to President G.H.W. Bush, or President Reagan, or Carter or Ford or Nixon or Johnson or Kennedy...ad infinitum. It simply isn't done.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! If he says that he thinks it's inappropriate to use a speech to veterans on veteran's day to make political points, I tend to agree. >When the President is over seas, the sh*t that's going on now is >put on pause, period. Hmm. I guess Bush didn't get that memo. He is continuing to bash democrats during his trip. Would be a bit hypocritical to announce that his political opponents cannot respond, eh? Walt Oh Walt, I hate to break it to you but there are certain people that regularly post here who are clearly in denial that anyone in the current administration has ever lied about anything. It's just miscalculation and bad intel, and besides, Clinton got a BJ and Hillary's a bitch.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
