Darius11 12 #26 November 9, 2005 QuoteQuoteI voted not ok. At the age of 7 I still enjoyed playing with my stuffed pink panther. I wouldn't even know what the questions meant. It is getting way out of hand no wonder why we have so many fucked up kids. 7 year olds know more about sex than most parents think they do... the kids just don't bring that kind of thing up with parents because even young they know that discussing it is taboo. A lot of my neighbor kids visit our house. And it blows my mind the things they like to 'educate' me about sex, even from very young ages. Unless kids are locked in caves, there's no way to avoid it. Parents can either educate their kids how to handle sex topics responsibly and not be ashamed to ask parents questions, or they can let their kids find out from sources they may not be so comfortable with. Either way, the kids are going to learn about sex. Home school and no fucking TV. I have seen parents who have taken the time and devoted the effort to bring their children up right (right in my opinion). If I have kids I hope I have the same dedication and energy. The last person I would want to influence them is Paris Hilton or some other waist of life with no morals.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I would definitely limit TV, but not home school. There's too much I don't know and can't expose a child to all by myself, I'd be doing them a disservice. There are more ideas out there and people than I can get them in touch with alone. And I want to teach my children how to deal with the world, not shelter them from it. bodypilot90 0 #28 November 9, 2005 QuoteAs much as I disagree with the survey on so many levels- inappropriate and poorly designed- I still feel the court ruling was essentially correct. Its really two separate issues. That's why I started this thread, because I thought the survey needed it's own thread. I will not address how I feel about "psych student and staff" in this thread.
