Have you seen the testimony of Marty Bahamonde before the commitee? Here is a bit from a story about the emails that he presented to the commitee; shows what a great job Brown was doing (the excerpt starts out with Bahamonde in an email to Brown):

"Sir, I know that you know the situation is past critical," he wrote to Brown on Aug. 31, two days after the storm hit. "Here are some things you might not know: Hotels are kicking people out, thousands gathering in the street with no food or water."

He went on to say that some "dying patients" were being taken out on medical helicopters. But "estimates are many will die within hours."

It's unclear what FEMA did in response to the note. But hours later, Brown's press secretary Sharon Worthy sent a message to another press aide instructing her to set up an interview for Brown at 9 p.m. with MSNBC's Joe Scarborough. The e-mail was included in documents presented at Thursday's hearing.

Worthy wrote that "it is very important that time is allowed for Mr. Brown to eat dinner" in Baton Rouge. She went on to express concern that Brown should be allotted plenty of time in his schedule because "restaurants are getting busy."

Bahamonde, who received a copy of the e-mail at the time, wrote a reply that said, "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!", according to an e-mail transcript. "Just tell her that I just ate an MRE and (went to the bathroom) in the hallway of the Superdome along with 30,000 other close friends so I understand her concern about busy restaurants."

Brown cannot answer a critical email from a guy there and instead defers to his PRESS secretary who has someone else send him a message about his DINNER.
