livendive 8 #1 November 1, 2005 I've grown accustomed to blustering loudmouth members of the House, but I've, with a couple notable exceptions, always expected our Senators to at least outwardly show some respect for each other and the seats they occupy. With regard to today's closed session called by Reid, Senator Frist said Quote"The United States Senate has been hijacked by the Democratic leadership," said Majority Leader Bill Frist. "They have no convictions, they have no principles, they have no ideas," the Republican leader said. Doesn't that seem a bit childish for the Senate majority leader? Per this article, former majority leader Lott said "Reid's move violated the Senate's tradition of courtesy and consent.", at least acknowledging such a tradition exists. I'm thinking Frist could have found better role models than Feinstein and Kennedy. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" TheAnvil 0 #3 November 1, 2005 Frist has been a horrid majority leader. The republican congress has been an abyssmal disappointment to me. No SS reform, little tax reform, nothing really major has come out of them. I'm disappointed. Not that I think a Dem congress would have done any better - they probably would have enraged me many times over. Sad. I'm certain a dem congress would have enraged me exactly the same (so SS reform, little tax reform, nothing major) Once we realize there is no difference between the two parties, then we can start making real decisions. Or just accept the status quo and start wearing towels more often. ... What he said. The minor differences of allegiance between the dominant parties are PR'd into major differences in hopes that such a sleight of hand will prevent us from realizing they're cookie-cutter copies of each other. You should buy a kitten and spin it on a smooth floor (linoleum or hardwood) until it's dizzy and then document which way it veers when running away. it's very theraputic and the kitten doesn't mind after about the 74th time ... lawrocket 3 #9 November 2, 2005 How can I expect more? They're 8-2 this year so far. Considering Ottawa's past history, they're doign pretty damned well. Especially with Hasek in the net. And heatley and Spezza are just going nuts so far. My wife is hotter than your wife.
