Treejumps 0 #1 September 29, 2005 Anyone watch Get Up Stand Up last night? It was the history of protest music starting with the labor movement's protest songs right up through the sixties and present day. Very interesting, and I realised that a lot of the music I relate to (I was born in 69) was war protest and "peace & love" music. It got me thinking that the reasons for invading Vietnam and the ensuing mess are nearly identical to those for Iraq. I was for the invasion, but I'm all for getting out now. We aren't getting anywhere, nor is there any reason to believe that we will. The mess we leave behind may be biger or smaller if we leave now, (according to an NPR report, there is already civli war in Iraq) but one things for sure, if we leave we won't have any more of our people killed there, and it won't cost another $300B this year.
