Would you vote for a woman President

Recommended Posts

Depends on the candidate. I would scream HELL NO! if it was Hillary Clinton. :|

Condi Rice? Maybe, if she was interested. I can't think of any others who would be well qualified...

I don't think being a woman would put off too many voters. Plenty of countries have had woman leaders. I really don't think it would be an issue.

That said, it does puzzle me why some people have such a rabid hatred of Hillary Clinton. I understand disagreeing with her politics, but damn! the way some people go on about her you'd think she was a female Osama bin Laden.

Started with the 'cookies' remark, then she wanted to make the unelected First Lady role a partner with that of the President, and going much further down the road, you have the blatant carpetbagging in NY with the clear political goals behind it. And she didn't just rub Republicans the wrong way - look to the way she fired off the travel office early on.

Consider it a bad combination of her tact and our sexism.

I do not agree with her political leanings, but respected her as a person, until the aforementioned carpetbagger antics. Not to mention blatantly whorish attempts to get votes; one day she's a Mets fan, next day she's wearing a skullcap, whatever it takes to get a photo op and some votes.

But what I'm really disappointed in is a poll on DZ.com about a woman for Prez that did not have an option or follow up comments that mentioned boobies.

what, the remark about how she wasn't going to the whitehouse just to bake cookies? whoopdeeshit.

as for carpetbagging: Aren't the Bushes carpetbaggers too? They came from New England and moved to Texas.

as for the "blatantly whorish attempts to get votes" and "anything for a photo op" remark, how is this different from just about every other well-known politician that ever lived?

It just seems to me that for some reason with Hillary Clinton things get blown waay out of proportion by some people. and I'm not sure why.

No males much like women smarter than they are. That's why the neo-cons hate her so much.

Don't believe Bush Sr moved to Texas for the purpose of running for a vacant Senate seat. He was in the CIA before become VP, and then runnign for president. Hardly the definition of carpetbagging. And clearly GW was living there with his failed business ventures.
