Why fight the inevitable?

Recommended Posts

"New Orleans is sinking three feet per century--eight times faster than the worldwide rate of only 0.4 feet per century. Currently, New Orleans, on average, is eight feet below sea level--11 feet in some places. "

Why fight the inevitable? It was underwater when we found it, and it will eventually be back underwater. I don't see why anyone would live that far below sea level in a coastal city anyway. I say leave it under water. Katrina put it underwater, Rita put some back, if there is a third one, I'd say it’s an omen!

Much of the Netherlands is below sea level too, IIRC, and they take adequate precautions. It is a challenging, but not impossible situation to deal with.

Besides, it would really suck to lose the city with the nation's best food.

The difference is that the Netherlands rarely get hit by huricanes.

The Netherlands get hit by major storms often. that is why they have constructed sea walls that can be closed off to guard against the storm surge tides.

And that flood is what promted them to build the sea walls.

Well yeah! They have all those little Dutch boys running around in wooden shoes to stick their finger in a dike at a moment's notice. Maybe we need to import some of them to Nawlens.

Shouldn't you be eating sauerkraut and drinking beer?:P

Actually, that sounds pretty good. I'm going out.

Yep. Just had to stop for a moment...
Nothing better than handmade/prepared Sauerkraut Cajun food.
You'd sell your soul for it

Let's stay on topic, shall we?:P

Cajun food is topic?
OK, if you say so...
Let's go outside and handle it like cowboys! [Mad]

Means:
(I prepare a nice Sauerkraut for you,
you invite me for a special Cajun food)

:D;)

Yes, I know. Fermentation f.e. I'm a farmer's kid. My parents used to do it. All hand made. That really is the best.

And if someone needs to lose some kilograms in short time: Eat pure Sauerkraut (out of a keg), that helps a lot, I tell you :). But, always try not to stay too far away from WC. :P

Did you know that sauerkraut shares something in common with beer, bread and yogurt in that it uses bacteria to process the original food into something more tasty?

sauerkraut may share the process in common, but tasty? THAT it does NOT share in common w/ beer, bread and yogurt... that shit is nasty. ick.

Mmm sauerkraut... Much better than Cajun food. I'd sell you my soul for some, but I sold that thing years ago.

As for rebuilding New Orleans, if it were any other city I'd say screw it, but I love that city (even if I don't like their food) so I'd like to see it rebuilt.

This is what really annoys me. Reports that state meaningless statistics. Pray tell me, what is this "worldwide rate"?

Are all landmasses sinking at a rate of 0.4 feet per century? I don't think so.

Did you know that Dropzone.com is getting 15 times the worldwide traffic rate. Guess what? I am twice as intelligent as the wordwide bullshit rate.

Click,. rant off.
