But seriously, do you not find it bad that Bush's press secretaries ( the men who represent the president to the press and therefore the Nation on many occasions) totally contradicted themselves? It takes a national disaster for Bush to change his tune. I find that appalling. It would be one thing if they just said that because of this we must conserve. I could accept that. But to claim that was your plan from DAY ONE? That is just an outright lie.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Funny, I remember people getting all over GHWB about that "Read my lips" stuff YEARS after he said it. It may be what they do, but that does not mean we should accept it. A lie could have been completely avoided if they would have just left it at "Because of the disaster, we should conserve" instead of making shit up. Cuervo Nation here I come. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

And he had no idea that Bin Laden was determined to strike in the US after he got a briefing entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US." And his top priority is finding Bin Laden, but it's not really important to him. And there is no doubt that Saddam has WMD's. And we invaded Iraq to stop Saddam's WMD programs, but it wasn't really about that. And no one anticipated that the levees could break. And the "Clear Skies" initiative is about clear skies. It's been going on for five years now. Why are you suprised? (And for the right wingers who are even now pounding out the "But Clinton . . ." reply, both democrats and republicans do it.) Not suprised. This is just the latest and still disappointing. And regardless, I think it is important to point out no matter WHO does it.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome.
