dmcoco84 5 #1 September 19, 2005 Anyone see the weather channel? Hurricane Rita might be heading for NEW Orleans in the next few days!
Anvilbrother 0 #2 September 19, 2005 This is for the SC? Ok well yea I did see the report, but you damn well know every news station is milking the headlines of a possible hurricane in the gulf even if they know with a 75% certanty that it will NOT hit N.O they will still make a big deal out of hitting them again. Sad that they feed off of fear. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,
Michele 1 #3 September 19, 2005 Well, it's about 5 days out...no one knows with any percentage of certainty where it will go...Mexico, Galveston, hard right turn to GA... Considering how badly NOLA was hurt, as well as MI and AL, I think that a good, long, potential head's-up is appropriate; especially since they're just starting to let people back in to the Algiers section of NOLA. They will need extra time to get out, because of all the infrastructure which was lost. So, well, while it may be a fear, it may also be real...and Katrina followed the same path - TS to Cat 1 in Florida (killing 11, if I understood correctly), blossomed into a gigantic Cat 5 in 4 days on the Gulf... I'm just sorry for the entire region; yet another series of hurricanes, not dissimilar to last year. It's getting rough out there. billvon 3,120 #4 September 19, 2005 >Sad that they feed off of fear. Actually they're just reporting what Nagin did, which was to halt the repopulation (unevacuation?) of New Orleans. That's just plain old reporting of what's happening in a very newsworthy area. ("Newsworthy" in this case meaning an area people want news from.) skydivermom 0 #5 September 20, 2005 Miss Rita is headed for Galveston, TX as of 4 PM today. The cruel part is that the Houston area is full of NO refugees, now they may have to flee again. Rita is due to hit late Fri. or early Sat. and is predicted a cat. 3 or 4. We live right in the bay (Baytown) and so will probably be getting out of dodge.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:

Hey, you can get a pretty good storm surge off Lake Michigan.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
