Mockingbird 0 #2 September 9, 2005 What a joke. $50,000. If Berger had been a republican, the dems would still be outraged, and the New York Slimes would have had it on page 1A every day since it happened. Why do Republicans let them sweep stuff like this under the rug? I'm surprised it even made it to court! Republicans have been shamed into resigning from office for lesser things than this. (My 2¢)

(My 2¢) I'll try to steer this one away from the Dems/Reps debate. Berger is a Washington DC insider (much like all federal politicians). What bothers me is that these "insiders", regardless of their political affiliation, seem to be held to a different standard than the "common" citizens they are supposed to represent/serve. Should I get caught with classified documents in my possession, and be caught destroying them, I'd better find a way to get Johnny Cochran back among the living to be "slapped" with a 50k fine and a "don't do it again withint the next 3 years" sentence. Somehow, we've allowed the system to turn itself upside down. Let's stop feeding the beast. On both sides of the political map. On such issues, united we stand, divided we gag... nate_1979 9 #5 September 9, 2005 Well, although he cant access clasified documents for 3 years or whatever.. Even after the 3 years he will have to go through another investigation for a security clearance, ... I've seen people get turned down for those for MUCH less, so I dont think he'll ever hold one again IMO. FGF #??? I miss the sky... But if you or I would get busted with classified documents in our possession, we'd risk a lot more than a 50k fine... And that, in my book, is not right. nate_1979 9 #7 September 9, 2005 Yup, anything even close to that I'd be in prison making big rocks into little rocks, little rocks into smaller rocks, and smaller rocks into sand... FGF #??? Yep, a trip to a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison it would be.
