In case of civil collapse ( like New Orleans)you need to be able to defend yourself;)

also if you have proper weapons there is no need to stock up on supplies you can just go take whatever you need from someone that was prepared

will this change the mind of any gun-hating bed-wetting liberal

I agree along all of the lines stated above. Most importantly though, I also believe that in addition to the possibility of civil collapse, if so many backass, scared-to-death, repressed closet-gay ultra-right-wing rednecks amass firearms, it's very important that everyone else does too, even if they feel just as secure without them! This would be a dangerous country if guns were in the hands of only the feeble-minded. So...guns for all!

Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

I see New Orleans filing a new suit against the gun industry on behalf of the people who suffered from armed looters.

Makes as much sense as their last one.

Is it true that in LA you can carry concealed without a permit?

Corollary: If you have a gun and a stock of supplies, you can keep others from coming and stealing your supplies from you.

The only businesses in New Orleans which haven't been looted, are those protected by armed business owners. The rest of them were not saved by alarms, security cameras or police...

agreed... but will this change the mind of any gun-hating bed-wetting liberal? hell no.

After the Los Angeles riots many years ago, a lot of those liberals went running to gun stores in droves, only to find out that they couldn't have a gun right away, because there was a mandatory two-week waiting period.

There's an old saying: "A liberal is just a conservative that hasn't been mugged yet."

Is it true that in LA you can carry concealed without a permit? ____________________________________________________20 yrs ago it was illegal, don't know about now. It was a misdemeanor. 30 days max. DUI was .2. Alas. The good old days[:/]

Yes.
In every place in this Nation you have the Right to carry any firearms in any manner you deem fit.(but you knew that)

The question is ; Are you willing to fight when the government attempts to infringe upon your Rights?

Incredibly far from the truth...but man that'd be cool.

***Plus there's always the added advantage of being able to shoot at the helicopters and busses trying to save people's lives.

Or instead of standing around and WATCHING thugs do that and trying to stop them with harsh language:S:P..........you might be able to lay down a suppressive fire............to prevent them from sniping at the Helos and the buses..........something I feel would be appropriate;)

My abbreviation was vague, esp with the L.A. riots coming into the discussion. I meant the state of Loiusianna. A friend was telling me that no permit of any sort was needed to legally carry concealed or in the car. I thought only Vermont or New Hampshire was that loose about it now.

oh, sorry... i think you're right... VT and NH are that loose but LA, don't think so... isn't MT getting that way too? What about the national right to carry law I keep hearing about that some are trying to push?

"No person shall carry a concealed firearm intentionally without a permit"

I've understood that it's okay to have a gun in your vehicle in that state, but I can't find the reference for that now...
