White House economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey estimated it might cost 100 to 200 billion at a minimum; the white house denied it and fired him. Can't the giants of military strategy recognize the benefit.. of preparation, anticipation, giving the look of vulnerabilty, but then springing the trap!!!!!!?? A politician from one of the areas hard hit by Katrina was quoted as saying, " New Orleans looks like downtown Baghdad"..... I wonder if Mother nature is spanking US.. right in our own backyard..... as payback for an ill conceived war which was predicated on what we have since learned to be FALSEhoods, lies, and exaggerations..... Now... when $$$$ is needed to restore sanity to those areas hit by the hurricaine.... the answer seems to be,,,,, "congress will simply authorize billions of dollars in aid...."
