Israel would never have existed and Japan would stretch from the Aleutians to Australia. Mexico would have possession of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Heaven knows what else... I can't believe you are attempting to use Americas involvement in the second world war to justify invading Iraq. How long are people like you going to use yesteryears noble acheivements to excuse todays attrocities?
Tonto 1 #27 August 29, 2005 QuoteIsolationism can be good to an extent, but for some of us, you can't just let some stuff go. Some things have to be delt with, no matter how terrible of a situation it is. Of course we all have our own degrees of what level is bad enough to warrant stepping in. So... 1 million deaths in three months in Rwanda didn't manage to pull the US trigger - but 50 000 over 35 years in Iraq did? Where's the logic in that? Don't get me wrong. The entire world failed Rwanda. South Africa could/should have helped, but we were busy with our first ever democratic election - something 80% of our population had waited 342 years for... and it seemed kinda important at the time. tIt's the year of the Pig. No lets go off topic for a moment if we may, Tonto: why does Africa support Mugabe in his reckless farm 're-distribution' programme and ignore the blatant bullying behaviour of his Zanu-PF thugs? From the (probably biased) news we get in the UK the man has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Tonto 1 #32 August 29, 2005 This is an auto reply - Tonto is currently out interviewing 450 million Africans to get a balanced opinion and should be back in early 2034, hopefully in time for his 72nd Birthday. t Seriously? He was democratically elected in 1980 after ousting a white minority government the world did nothing to get rid of. Why wasn't everyone going nuts about getting Ian Smith out of power? He's a black president in Africa and he shuffles a few laws. Has GW shuffled a few laws in the past 4 years? It's the year of the Pig.
