So now the 11th son of 45 children born to the founder of Saudi Arabia has died and his brother will be crowned later this week. I wonder whats in store for the future.?? ViperPilot 0 #7 August 3, 2005 Well now that Fahd is gone, the prince will act even more on his hatred of America. Even Fahd just being alive did provide some restraint...but now there's none. Pity.
Skyrad 0 #8 August 3, 2005 LOL... No prizes for guessing who that was for. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
Skyrad 0 #9 August 3, 2005 I don't think you've anything to worry about. The house of Saud is hated by 'Al Queda' due to the fact that they let in Americans. Bin Laden even volenteered his services to stop that happening and has declared a Fatwa (Which irreversable) against the Saudi Royals. The west has much more to fear if the House of Saud falls than if it gains democracy as the Wahhabist Salafist majority would win any election. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. ViperPilot 0 #11 August 3, 2005 Although Al Qaeda did hate Saudi for its cooperation with America, the Prince has since severed the ties with America, and thus lessened Al Qaeda's feud with it. Saudi is becoming more liked by Al Qaeda every day. Does that mean Saudi will support terrorism? No. But it does mean that's one less country Al Qaeda has to worry about. Casurf1978 0 #12 August 3, 2005 Which Prince are you talking about? If its Abdullah he's been running the show since 1995 and in that time strenghted ties with America. Remember the Bush clan and the royals go back a while. Not bashing Bush with that last statement.

ViperPilot 0 #14 August 4, 2005 Abdullah is not so friendly towards America; maybe he's ok directly, but not indirectly. He supports radical clerics who preach violence against America, and is kicking the US military out. This guy is not being cordial to America, that's certain. Skyrad 0 #15 August 4, 2005 That depends on your stance, if you are coming from a Wahhabist Salafist Modern Islamist stance then you are correct but if you are taking a Deobandi Salafist Modern Islamist stance on the matter then you are incorrect . See, simple. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Skyrad 0 #16 August 4, 2005 Interesting but incorrect. Saudi has been sponsoring Millitant/Terrorist groups since the 70's. Although America is leaving Saudi to some degree the Saudi Royals are seen as a 'Hypocrite' government that coludes with the west and the groups that make up what is refered to as Al Queda are dedicated to its downfall, the fact that there has been withdrawl of forces does not change that. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Look who attended the King's funeral. What amazes me is that Saudi Arabia has one of the worst records on human and women rights, yet all these World leaders turn a blind eye. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if we had a women Prez. How well would she be received by the Royals in SA.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if we had a women Prez. How well would she be received by the Royals in SA. Not sure what you mean. The bush family, all the way back to Prescot has focused relationship building with the Saudi Royals. More than $1.4 billion in contracts and investments can be traced from the House of Saud to companies in which the Bushes and their friends have had key roles. Saudi money bailed out Harken Energy when George W. Bush was on its board of directors Bush 41 and James Baker traveled to Saudi Arabia repeatedly for the Carlyle Group to woo Saudi investors and win contracts. The Bush family remains close to Prince Bandar, even though Bandar's wife actually funded two 9/11 hijackers—indirectly and inadvertently, of course. Indirect and inadvertent—that's the Saudi way Right after the horrifying events of Sept. 11, when there were still restrictions on U.S. airspace, the White House authorized the evacuation of at least 142 people, most of them Saudi. About two dozen were members of the Bin Laden family. I don't mean to suggest that the people on board were necessarily guilty of anything, but many of them certainly should have been the subjects of serious interviews done through formal investigative procedures. There is no evidence that happened. But it is unquestionable that the Saudis were given White House authorization to fly. There certainly is a strong relationship with the Bush family (& Friends) unique to other State Leaders. Major personal $$$$$ Carpe Diem
ViperPilot 0 #19 August 5, 2005 Skyrad, I wasn't saying the Prince was the first one to support terrorism. He's just another cog in the wheel on that one I guess. However his dislike for America is a large reason as to why we're (the military) are leaving. So, now Saudi is more prone to increased terrorism support since the US will not be there (just my opinion of course).
