So I've been watching all this Muslim bashing on the forums and I'm thinking WTF!!!!
" Our Troops" are in Iraq to bring democracy to that country.
Well at least that's the reason du jour(I'm not French but I figured if I threw in a French term I'd piss- off some of you double!).

So , Islam is the religion of hate!
Islam is the religion which seeks to exterminate every Infidel.
And Islam is the religion that "our Troops" are fighting to establish as the theocracy in Iraq!

Yes, That is very true.
If the US is succesful in establishing a democracy in Iraq, Iraq will be a Shiite /Islamic theocracy!

So... if democracy is our goal, and that is what the troops are fighting for.., they are fighting to establish an Islamic theocracy.

Scrap all those goofy yellow"support our troops" ribbons on the back of your cars.
Cut out the middle-man and sport the new"Support Islam"ribbons.
After all ..,that's why our guys are bleeding over there.

So i guess you are suggesting not only we go and "invade" the country on wrong/false pretences and create terrible suffering on all sides for those on ground level and try to implement a half baked "democratic" government, but we also tell them that the religion they have been studying there for the last dozen or so centuries is to be outlawed and replaced by a Christianity?

I see very little muslim bashing and a lot of muslim 'extremsit' terrorist bashing. There's a difference. Those few that continue to make incorect generalization about all muslims in general seem to get slapped down pretty universally here.

The overgeneralization flaw applies to other areas quite a bit more.

Maybe not, but boy you will be pissed if after democratic election the country ends up being more extremist than before.
What would the U.S do if the new free elected government ends up being Taliban? Would the U.S let run for election a Taliban party? if not, would they be free elections?

What you have presented is a syllogism. In a syllogism, there are three principles where, upon first glance, all catagories appear true:

If A is predicated of all B
and B is predicated of all C,
then A is predicated of all C.

For example:

) All oranges are citrus fruits
2) This lemon is a citrus fruit
Therefore
3)this lemon is an orange


Not necessarily true, is it?

However, in this particular case, does A even equate to A?

Let's look again at your syllogism (God, I hate insomnia, but I digress):

First, Does Islam = Hate? No, not in its true form. It's a religion.
Islam, as a religion, does not seek to exterminate anyone. Extremist might (but not the wording you used, so I'm not substituting); jihad is a contemporary term and ideology, not a basis for the Islamic religion itself.
Ergo, A/=/ B. Therefore, A/=/C.
