Vonage Sucks

I have a cisco router that they gave me, which overheats after 30 minutes after being plugged in to where Vonage nor the internet will work. They sent me a new one (charged me $110) then made me pay to ship the old one back.

The new one overheats too...You need to speak Punjabi to talk to tech support...They cant understand that the router is overheating and insist it is a prob with my DSL (it's not, I thake the vonage router out of the loop and it works great)

Is there another VoIP service that is good? I hate SBC worse that vonage.

I have no problem at all with Vonage. They sent me a different brand router though and I use it with Comcast cable. You might want to check out www.sunrocket.com. One of the guys I work with is trying it and has had no problems. They give you a free 2 phone cordless outfit free. It is cheaper if you pay up front for a year too.

Sounds like a Cisco issue, rather than a Vonage issue.

As for Cisco, it's all we use here in our datacenter. I have a $250K Cisco router sitting behind me right now waiting on me to configure it.

I've found Cisco routers, switches, concentrators, etc... to be extremely reliable and easy to work with, at least at the enterprise level of their product range.

I agree... check with the cisco site and see if there's a firmware update for the router.

I have vonage and the original linksys (cisco) router I was sent and I have no problems at all...

I have vonage as well and to date have had no problems with it.

I use my vonage with cable though, instead of DSL.

Maybe make a poll for who has problems with Vonage using DSL?

I've never had a problem wit Vonage either.. Well.. It slows down my internet gaming. Other than that isn't great.

We've been using Vonage for 6 monthes and have never had a problem.

Quite simply, we love the service and recomend it to all our friends.

Another Vonage sucks story:

I signed up for the service, with the understanding they would transfer my phone number. After four months and a lot of phone calls from me to them trying to fix it, they never transferred my number, so I canceled. Then they hit me with a $39.99 disconnect fee.

The worst part, they never sent me a bill for the $39.99, they just turned it over to a collection agent. So I never knew about the remainder on the account, until I got a letter from a collection agent

I have used vonage for 3-4 years now and it works fine. For the past year, I've used it with DSL. On occasion, I will have some issues with the quality I receive on my end.

A friend uses www.magicjack.com and loves it. He tells me it is cheaper and better quality than Vonage.

Comcast supplied Teryon cable box to a LinkSys Broadband router and Microsoft Wireless 10G Switch...hey it all works.
