I'd just like to congratulate the London bombers. yesterday they achived what only happens in London in the very worst of times, its called 'The blitz spirit'. they succeeded in uniting the people of my city, black, white, Jew, Muslim, Hindu and Christian. I was working in a London hospital A&E (ER) and we had to activated our Major Incident Plan. People of all colour and creed came together and for a day we were all simply 'Londoners' working to help each other. As I drove through London after work many people were stopping to offer strangers a lift, the bus drivers and alot of taxi drivers refused to take fares. There was no panic, no hysteria on the streets, more of a 'Blitz Spirt' mentality. During WWII Hitler dropped hundreds of thousands of tons of high explosive on us day after day for years. This only forged our spirit to one aim to help each other, pull together and overcome the enemy that threatened to destroy us.
Since then the IRA terrorists have also tried to terrorise us by bombing us, we didn't flinch then and we don't flinch now. In the words of a former Prime Minister today it's 'Business as usual' you failed and will always fail to terrorise the people of London we have been here for thousands of years and we will be here for thousands more after you have gone. Today I'm proud to say 'I am a Londoner.'

I knew there was a reason I liked drinking beer with the Royal Commandos last time I was in the "Stan". Strange how a "terror" act does little to scare us anymore. It only unites us. Now if we can just get more Nations to unite!

I agree with Wendy. Hear, hear. B|

I'm sure that Mi5 is working hard to get the goods, and when they do, the SAS is going to teach those fuckwads a lesson they'll never forget>:(

I'm proud for you Londoners also. I witnessed the same unity in NY after 9/11. You folks have everything to be proud of.

My condolences to those who lost loved ones and my prayers for a quick recovery for those injured.

The Brits aren't like the Spanish.

And the Spanish ain't like the Spaniards.
The spaniards have not given up the fight on terrorism as far as I know. They, silly them, believe that people planting bombs in Spain are.......[drum roll]....... in Spain! Not in Iraq, Iran, Zimbabwe or Montana (although some may be in the Basque country). Much like I'm sure the MI5 & al is combing the UK as we speak...

Oh, silly me. I seem to remember Spain giving into terrorists demands and pulling all their troops out of Iraq with the promise they would be left alone. Damn lying terrorists. You just can't trust those guys can you?

Have you seen "The Siege"?

If you haven't, rent it sometime, and pay particular attention to the march at the end of the movie, and the terrorist's comments about it. Quite thought provoking.

You seem to have selective memory. Have you forgotten that it was general elections time? You know that little thing called democracy made up some 2000 years ago?

Funny thing is that the terrorists had their biggest success with the U.S.
Isn´t it true that you enjoy fewer liberties that before 9/11?
Arent you guys involved in a war that is make you both look bad and a bit poorer?
Isn´t your society more divided than ever?
Isn´t it true that you have managed to torture and kill far more innocents at guantanamo than terrorists and that Europe is catching all the terrorists?

Next time that AQ want to disrupt big time the U.S, they only have to put a bomb, burn a flag, and ignorance and greed will do the rest.

What is the point and why is it funny?

During a war that is to be expected, and the changes are not much. Some aspects of the Patriot Act I agree to be unconstitutional, and there are plenty of groups advocating for them to be fixed.

Some think it makes us look bad, I think there was no choice but to enforce the conditions of the gulf war cease fire. Do you expect a war to make a country richer? That was how war was a long time ago (pillage/plunder and all that sort of stuff). I think this is a lousy criteria for deciding on whether to go to war.

There is a lot of disagreement on the war. Our representatives in government did not just take a poll to decide. It was their job to decide.

No. I think it is quite interesting that some of the detainees that are being released are being refused by their own countries. I think that should be a clue to us to hold them longer, they are not guys you want to be free.

Islamic facists are at war with the free world. Many are in denial about this fact. Many attacks have been stopped, including one against several sites in Europe shortly after 9/11 (the Hague, NATO headquarters and some others if memory serves me). The US government has not been bragging much about all the plots that have been spoiled, because it would not be comforting to know that there were so many plots.

Many thought that Neville Chamberlain was a hero his great feat of diplomacy with a piece of paper, declaring, "Peace in our time". Even Stalin was misled because of his desire to avoid war.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

We have killed more innocents at guantanamo than terrorists?

All I can do is just laugh this statement is so ridiculous. It also points out the break with reality by the Lefties I have been talking about.

I would also point out to you that the US has killed more terrorists in Iraq in a single day than Europe has caught in the last four years.

Don't forget, many have said that those in the world trade center weren't innocent and deserved it.[:/]

London Pride

You come to place your bags of hate
On bus and train, you made us late
Yet we’ll be back again tomorrow
We’ll carry on despite our sorrow
Your bags of hate caused some to die
Yet we stride out strong with heads held high
You’ll never win, we will not bow
You can’t defeat us, you don’t know how
This London which we love with pride
Is a town where scum like you can’t hide
Don’t worry we will hunt you down
Then Lock you up in name of Crown
We’re London and we’re many races
Just look you’ll see our stoic faces
We all condemn your heinous act
You will not win and that’s a fact
We’ll mourn our dead and shed a tear
But we will not bow to acts of fear
You’re out there somewhere all alone
There’s nowhere now you can call home
Olympics ours we’ve won the race
Your timing then a real disgrace
Our strength you’ll find remains unbowed
We’re London and we’re very proud.

Got this via email from a friend 'across the pond'
~thought I'd pass it along.

Here's how horribly the Terrorists at Gitmo are being treated.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20050710/pl_afp/usattacksguantanamo_050710195205

Guantanamo Bay detainees play soccer, eat well: US senator Sun Jul 10, 3:52 PM ET

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Inmates from the US-led war on terror held at the prison camp at the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba are well treated, play outdoor sports, and have access to a broad Muslim-approved menu, a US senator who traveled to the site said.

US Senator Pat Roberts, a conservative Republican from Kansas, said on "Fox News Sunday" that he just returned from visiting the Guantanamo detention site.

"They have a Muslim menu down there of 113 dishes," said Roberts, chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee.

"I saw them playing soccer. I saw them playing ping-pong. I saw them playing ... I think it was volleyball," he said.

US camp guards "strictly observe with reverence all of the prayer calls, five times a day, 20 minutes," he said.

"And in regards to the health care, my word, they have better health care than many of my small communities in Kansas."

According to Roberts inmate treatment there "is carrots, not sticks. We are treating people humanely."

Meanwhile the US soldiers guarding the inmates "are getting very rough treatment from some of these detainees -- and I don't call them 'detainees,' I call them 'terrorists' -- throwing excrement at them and everything else."

The US guards "are more worried about what's happening in Congress in regards to their future than they are the terrorists," Roberts said.

There are some 520 detainees from around the world being held at the site, including suspected members of the Al-Qaeda terror network and Afghanistan's Taliban militia.

The Guantanamo detention site has been the focus of worldwide controversy following allegations that US forces have abused detainees. Leading members of the opposition Democratic Party want the site closed down.

Jesus, what kind of trash is that!

I'm not religious, christel, but I still think calling me "Jesus", isn't very respectful to the beliefs of those that are Christian-based religious:P
