Supreme Court's final day of the year

Recommended Posts

The SCOTUS has been busy the last few days. Today was a busy day, too.

1. There were two deisions on religious display. One of them held that the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed in courthouses if the purpose is to convey religious messages (5-4). IN a related case, the SCOTUS ruled that the Ten Commandments CAN be displayed in proper context.

2. The Court decided that FCC regulations allowing high speed cable operators to deny other providers access to their lines is a reasonable interpretation.

3. That internet providers who allow customers to upload and download intellectual property using their sites are liable for the infringements

4. That no substantive due process right is available to persons with a restraining order (that is, police are not required to protect you) (this was to be expected, since Thomas's concurrence in the New London case)

But, Rehnquist did not announce his retirement.

A pretty interesting day by the courts, says I.

My wife is hotter than your wife.
