Darius11 12 #4 June 17, 2005 I watched the video. The cop says that’s what you get when you take a swing at a cop. I didn’t see her take a swing. And when you get tasered the point of taseing someone is temporary paralysis? If so why are they asking her to put her hand above her head kind of hard when you are paralyzed. Steel 0 #7 June 17, 2005 QuoteI watched the video. The cop says that’s what you get when you take a swing at a cop. I didn’t see her take a swing. Ofcourse you didn't see her take a swing from the angle of tha camera. But even if she hadn't taken a swing it was clear she was resisting arrest and that they had waited long enough. Do you think they should have stood outside her car for 5 hours waiting for her to decide to step outside. Or perhaps risking her taking off and having a high speed chase. I don't. I think she got what she deserved, inspite of being given multiple chances. I only hope that more people see this video so that they see what will happen if you resist arrest. You can be sure if she knew what she was in for she would have stepped outside the car nicely. But she didn't know there was a video there on the police car, catching everything so she couldn't make up a story. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. When he ran her license she was driving on a suspended license. When he tried to arrest her, she resisted. So we have: 1. Speeding 2. Broken windshield 3. Broken tail light 4. No seat belt. All worth a ticket. AND 5. Driving on a suspended license 6. Resisting arrest. Worth a trip to jail. He warned her more than 4-5 times that is she did not get out of the car he would tazer her....She continued to resist. He tazered her once, she STILL failed to comply. QuoteWhen she's laying on the ground flanked by two healthy cops, using a taser cuz she won't comply with a command to put her hands behind her back is ridiculous. She was tazered once and failed to follow instructions. If the two "healthy" cops had grabbed her we would be sitting here and you would be saying they "Beat her". She is a twit. Ron 10 #23 June 17, 2005 QuoteI call bull shit to anyone who is going to stand there and tell me that a poor black (African American) 18-year-old is treated the same as a rich white 18-year-old. If they both act the same they should get treated the same. I had a black friend get "harassed" By a cop. He told me his story. He got stopped for speeding, no seat belt...ect. He started talking shit to the cop. Cop :"Do you know why I pulled you over?" Him: "Yeah, I was driving while Black." Anyway he was told to get out of his car, he didn't. When he finaly did get out of the car he was told to sit on the curb....He refused. Other cops showed up since the officer called for back up....One was black. He called the black cop a "sellout". Anyway long story short he claims he was harrased... I asked him..."Were you speeding?". He said ,"Yes" "Did you have your seat belt on?" he said "No" "Did you talk trash to the cop?" he said, "Yes" Well I have been stopped by cops before...It goes like this: Cop: "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Me: "No *sir*". Cop: "You were speeding" Me: "Really? I was just trying to go with the flow *officer*" Sometimes I get a driving award...Sometimes I get off with a warning. If I had called him an asshole, I bet things would have gone differently. And if he had called him sir I bet things would have been different as well. This woman was a twit and got what she asked for."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
lawrocket 3 #24 June 17, 2005 I've been pulled over a couple of times. Once was for speeding over a hill (she was the hottest damned cop I'd ever seen - she didn't want to frisk me, either). I behaved when she asked me questions and she let me off with a warning when I said, "Look. I didn't know the speed limit was 35 on the bridge when it was 45 before and 45 after. You clocked me at 43, and I'm not denying that. Do what you need to do." The top was down on my ride, so she knew I was white. Is that why she stopped me? Maybe because it was a piece of crap car I was driving. Or maybe, just maybe, it was because I was speeding. WHo knows. I didn't get out of my next ticket, though. That dern hispanic cop pinching me for a right turn on red. What a bigot. My wife is hotter than your wife.
JohnRich 4 #25 June 17, 2005 Quoteif your black, Latino, or any thing other then a white kid you would know why a lot of cops are not liked. If you’re a rich white kid they treat you differently. Ohhhh, there's that hatred of white America revealing itself again. Feel the love!
