I think we should kick every reporter off of every military installation PERMANENTLY.
shropshire 0 #28 May 14, 2005 Hi, That's an intersting view.... (I'm not sure yet if there should be any or non). QuoteI think we should kick every reporter off of every military installation PERMANENTLY. What I also find interesting, is that the military and embededs fawned over each other during the invasion and far from being unbiased reporting, the embeddes tended to taken on a paramiltary role (it all looked rather sad and pathetic to me in the main). Now it seems that they are in the way and reporting stuff that some people just dont want out. . . (.)Y(.) JohnRich 4 #31 May 16, 2005 QuoteMuslims pissed over the flushing of the koran Oops. Just another example of shoddy journalism. They are so quick to believe anything anti-American, and publish it without verification. But when it comes to retractions, they can't do that yet, because they have rigid standards to meet! If only they would put as much effort into their stories up front, as they do with retractions. Newsweek's Response Excerpt: "we regret that we got any part of our story wrong, and extend our sympathies to victims of the violence and to the U.S. soldiers caught in its midst." juanesky 0 #32 May 16, 2005 What an Irony this all shows. It is ok the be enfuriated if you alledgely flush the Qur'an, it is a matter of outrage, and it is ok to kill over that. Yet if you are a foreigner, and burning an american flag in front of the US embassy, it is not ok if the US retaliate against this hatred. That is the lie behind the so call ARAB movement. Lies, BS, ignorance, the abuse of women and children, to establish terror througout the world."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
billvon 3,131 #33 May 17, 2005 >it is not ok if the US retaliate against this hatred. No, it's fine. We've had people right here on this board saying they would beat the crap out of someone who burned the flag. We'd be hypocrites if we then claimed that arabs could not do the same to us when we desecrate something they think is important.
rhino 0 #34 May 17, 2005 Quotewhen we desecrate something they think is important. It's not a we thing. This tendancy to classify groups of people is why this whole thing is out of hand. Now.. If the whole USA went out and bought a Quran and we had National Piss on Your Quran and flush it down the toilet day.. Muslims would have a real reason to hate the US. The problem is, people like to generalise - it makes their logic a lot easier for them to handle. IMHO, it's not the people that we should target.... but the hatred........ Problem is, I don't know how. . (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome

Muslims would have a real reason to hate the US. Good idea! Heck, they hate us anyway, so why not? I've yet to see any video of American mobs burning Korans in the street. But we sure seem to have a lot of video of the Muslims burning U.S. flags and Bush effigies in the street... So I wonder which of the two groups is more rational and in control of their emotions? Doh!
homer 0 #37 May 17, 2005 I you all saw FOX News last night it was a false reporting by newsweek. There was an military investigation done and no evidence was found that the incident actually happened. The Newsweek reporter who did the story was questioned as to his source of information and his so called "reliable connection" in Cuba. Well the "reliable connection" couldn't supply proof it even happened or even how he got his information. CSA #699 Muff #3804
