Do you find this hilarious?

It looks like Greenpeace faces a potential fine of 200-$400k. I wonder if Greenpeace can be sentenced to community service?

"For Defendant Greenpeace, you are hereby sentenced to 200,000 man hours of community service which will consist of cleanign litter from Prince William Sound."

I wonder if they'd complain?

If they break the law, then they pay like anyone else.

But they won't, contributions will come in to cover it so the punishment will be moot.

it is definately a bit of a hypocritical oversight on greenpeaces part. i take it the petrolium products was just the fuel for the ships propultion?
it doesn't suprise me though that the corporate backed fox network tries to make greenpeace look like idiots without including the extent or importance of the area to be logged. the logging may be primary forest never to be seen again?

i find it uncanny that greenpeace get ridiculed for a 'potential' evoronmental disaster, when they were/are trying to stop logging of an important area.

We do it a lot. Consider what we are doing to North Korea's nuclear engineers, or Norway's fishermen, or Afghani farmers. We consider it almost our birthright to meddle in other country's affairs.

Include Japan's whalers in there too...

Gosh, pardon us!

We should just let that North Korean madman turn a million people into vaporized dust.

We should let Afghani farmers feed the worlds cocaine addiction.

And we should let the whales go extinct - who needs 'em.

Darn Americans: always meddling in other people's business!

You just can't argue with John. Thanks for pointing out the facts.

Well, since it's FACTS you want, the primary producers of cocaine are Colombia, Peru and Bolivia according to the US GAO report. NOT Afghanistan.

You can argue with John. The fact is that the activities of Afghan farmers will never feed the world's cocaine habit, since they grow poppies in Afghanistan. Poppies are used to make opium and heroin.
