kelpdiver 2 #52 May 12, 2005 So I presume you also subscribe to the 'bitch set me up' defense when a gal in a miniskirt gets raped? Or if a bicyclist takes the lane when there's glass on the shoulder, it's ok for the inconvenienced motorist to 'take him out.' He had it coming, right? I'm not aware of any state where the motorists have the right to drive as fast as they want, whenever they want. Maybe CO is special. Where I've been, if the traffic in front of you is going to slow for your preferences, too bad. You're still responsible for passing safely. If you want to 'remove yourself from the situation,' PULL OVER. Call the cops. Ramming through is hardly reducing the sitation - at that point the survivors are, imo, welcome to pull you out of your car and fuck your now empty eye sockets. You're trying to justify vehicular manslaughter. Maybe you should join up with the guy who wants to witness a fatality. Both of you need some sort of help if you value life so lowly. n23x 0 #53 May 12, 2005 I certainly do not subscribe to the "bitch set me up" defense you relate, nor do I have any problem with a cyclist sharing the lane. Here in CO, we have cyclists everywhere, and I have no problem sharing lanes with them. What I do have a problem with is the fact that you PRESUME innocence on the part of the bikers. Guess what. They were being filmed, and we're not talking high quality film here, we're talking low quality "hey watch this" street video that they're gonna try to sell you between the 2-3am slots of Jerry Springer. Lets examine another scenario. These bikers hassled this guy, and while doing so, the guy in the car realized that bikes can respond faster to situations, and move in close quarters. He decides to push forward with the intent that the bikes will respond and move out of the way. He mows them over accidently. It sucks, but it's no different then the games they've been playing all night. Look better at the context of the film before you pass judgement on who was really the offender here. In regards to the comparison to the guy who wants to see a fatality, of course I don't. I have no interest in surrounding myself with death. Keep arguing it all you want, I will stand by my statement. .jim"Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

You need to go get a motorcycle and ride it for a month. Then come back to me and see if you feel the same way. Other then that, I'm going to be nice since we're supposed to be nice on this website. Duckwater 0 #57 May 12, 2005 Umm, math is on Dave's side - 4 years - 1500 jumps, N23X - 1 yr 176 jumps 600 jumps - 7 years Plus, if Dave posts from the DZ he IS all there all the time.... Ill buy Dave a round. --
AggieDave 6 #58 May 12, 2005 Well, jump numbers are jump numbers and time in sport is time in sport, but that doesn't relate to motorcycles very much. Although that guy did PM me to tell me that he's owned a lot of bikes and used to ride a lot. To me listening to it, it sounds a lot like the "skydiver" that you meet in a bar. Talking big to the ladies, but once you get down to it he's been on a tandem and saw Terminal Velocity a couple times too many. I know a good number of riders, including some that ride like total asshats (cruisers and sport bikes), I can't think of a one that would condone riding like described. I also don't know many people that would go out of their way to try to kill someone in cold blood simply due to road rage. Honestly its beyond me. Oh, as a side note, whats sad is that even though I don't live on a DZ, I still have a fuckload of posts from the DZ. When its just the staff out there and we're waiting for students, when the weather sucks or sometimes when I'm just out there during non jump days getting some other work done around the DZ, I'll hop on a computer up there and post. I guess the greenies see it since its a different IP then my home IP. This shit is more entertaining then TV.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Lindsey 0 #62 May 12, 2005 What I heard, second hand, is that the driver was drunk and never noticed the bikers were there until after he hit them. Of course since I don't have a reputable source for that, it's just bonfire gossip I suppose... linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged.
