It's verrrry interesting to learn how other people feel about current issues. Plus, sometimes, I learn something. Not often, but every now and then someone who actually knows what they're talking about says something worth paying attention to.

The rest is guilty pleasure, like watching the chairs fly on Springer.

I can see that :-) It seems primed with a lot of people on edge, ready to leap onto a soap box, and continue all sorts of ongoing battles about a variety of issues.

Although I could see how this forum could quickly become a major time sink.

It's easy to care deeply about some things. Most of those things care about me, so I'm working on choosing them a little better.
