Woman convicted of rape

Recommended Posts

so you're saying you wouldn't call the cops and subject her to the criminal justice system... but you support a woman who committed this crime being convicted... and you call a man a sissy for calling the cops...

yeah, real consistent line of thought. and drop the high horse shit, I'm not on one and it's irrelevant anyway.

and the double standard I'm referring to regards sex crimes, NOT showing a deep respect for women by opening doors for them and the like. We SHOULD treat women like the "crown jewels of creation" that they are. but if they commit an assault on someone, that doesn't exonerate them.

and the analogy of school teachers? it IS apropo... it further illustrates the double standard in our society... it's not a straight analogy, it's pushing it even to a more clear example of what a bs attitude some people have on the matter.

And I'm guilty of it too but it's something to fight against.

That above is the most real statement in this cycle.

Other - A harmless joke based on a crappy double standard is certainly a statement of "our crappy double standards". And interesting to discuss.

But at the same time, it's also just a "harmless joke". As long as it's not made in front of my daughter anyway. I'd have let it slide.

Am I the only one thinking of a certain song that seems appropros?

"Norwegian Wood" by the Beatles - edited slightly

"I once had a girl,
Or should I say,
She once had me.

She showed me her room,
She wasn't good,
For my Norwegian wood.

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere.
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on the rug,
Biding my time,
Drinking her wine.

We talked until two,
And then she said,
It's time for head.

She told me she worked in the morning and started to slouch.
I told her I didn't and passed out asleep on the couch.

And, when I awoke,
I moaned and groaned,
This bird had "blown."

So, I called the cops
It wasn't good,
Norwegian wood."

One who doesn't like getting a hummer from a woman. What a sissy.

I don't understand.

Doesn't a man have as much right as to what happens to his body as I do? Doesn't he get to choose what he wants? Are you saying that a woman has more rights to their body than a man does? I'm really not sure I understand what you're saying, Chuck.

You are focussed on the "rights" too much. Men only can do one thing in same time. If one part of body is busy, the rest ist sleeping....:D:D:D f.e. brain, fighting for rights etc.

LMAO, you are too funny.

This is interesting. Here's Chuck, an attorney, applying pure pragmatism to this. It's nice to see that there is one attorney out there who can. Hell, I can't.

Much of what goes on with this is dignitary in nature. Knwoing the double standards applied to men and women, Chuck is merely reflecting a pretty well known societal viewpoint. It's a little more difficult to establish a dignitary violation (from a sociological and psychological point of view) for a guy if he's on the receiving end of something like this.

Women get sexually assaulted by men. Men get sexually assaulted by men. Men DON'T get sexually assaulted by women. At least they don't admit to it.

the only other similar case I can think of hearing about was some guy several years ago who slipped roofies into some gal's drink. Her friends saw it and switched the drinks, he consumed the spiked drink and it knocked him out. The girls then took him back to their place where they sexually assaulted him in an invasive way.

Legally, there is no difference. Morally there should be no difference. But from a sociological standpoint, this guy is considered somewhat kooky. Honestly, if

I had a woman doing that to me, I'd be pretty mad, too.

That news story doesn't really give enough information (such as did she break into his house, did he have any kind of relationship with her, had they had sex before he went to sleep, etc.?)... but I would hope they had sufficient evidence to prove it was against his will since they sentenced her to nine months in prison.

I sort of agree with what you're saying about men and women being different... I think there are a lot more guys who wouldn't feel violated from being woken up by an unexpected blowjob from one of their female friends (assuming she hadn't broken into his house) than there are women who wouldn't feel violated by the reverse situation.

But still, a man should have just as much right to report sexual assault as a woman does (without being called a sissy).

I agree. Take your average 19 year old male who had two women being agressive about having sex with him and he will be bragging about it to all his friends. He's considered a stud.

Reverse the situation and the woman feels intimidated and if she has sex with them, she's considered a slut.

what a shitty double standard you're perpetuating.

Sure there is a double standard, and there are reasons:

1. The average man is more powerful than the average woman, especially in upper-body strength. The average woman is less likely to be able to fight off man than vice versa.

2. It is not uncommon for a rapist to kill his victim to ensure there are no witnesses that can identify him. (See #1).

3. The rape of a female may result in her pregnancy. That can't happen to a man.

Unless the female caused physical injury to the guy, I can't see a reason for pressing charges.

Unless drugged, drunk, or otherwise incapacitated.

Here's a simple concept: no consent = Rape. Do you disagree?

Factually incorrect.

No, instead there can be a pregnancy for her which he is financially responible for supporting.

Should that be the legal standard for women, as well? If not, what legal justification can you offer for treating violated citizens differently?

>>no consent = Rape. Do you disagree?

>It's only rape if the victim calls it a rape. Some people are into
>kinky sexual acts.

Doesn't matter if the victim likes rape fantasies, likes getting hit, or likes get pelted with dead cats. If she doesn't consent to it, it's rape. If she consents to it, but wants to enact some sort of rape fantasy, that's fine - but the bottom line is that she has to enter into it consensually.

Apparently you know very little about this subject. Let's just leave it at that.

And apparently you don't know how consent figures into the picture.

If there's no consent, it's rape, pure and simple.

As for kinky sexual acts, that would fall under the realm of "safe, sane, and consensual". It doesn't matter how kinky she is if there's no consent.

Wrong. You are trying to apply your own experiences to something apparently beyond your understanding. Tell you what. Do a google search for "consensual rape".

*snicker* Yeah, I have to agree, Bill...I'm just waaay too vanilla to argue with Gravitymaster on this one.

Oh, and hey! I got some e-mails from someone in Nigeria wanting to give me some money! It came from the net, it has to be true!

I only gave you a web reference because it is all I have available I can point you towards. Hey you don't want to understand what consensual rape is? Fine, but don't act like the world is so black and white. Or should I say, vanilla and chocolate.

For someone who uses web references as often as you do. The above statement is absolutely hysterical. :D:D:D:D

Gravity, after re-reading your posts, I think we may be saying the same thing, but reading different interpretations...

Here's the way I see it:

Consensual rape = Not rape in the legal sense of the word if "acted" out by two consenting adults.

Non-consensual rape = Legal rape and should be punished by law.

I really don't want to get into this. There is such a thing as consent after the fact. If you have ever read about the Boston Strangeler as an example, you will understand that he raped many women who never reported it. There are also many cases where a woman actually gives the rapist her phone number and carried on an affair because he was such a "hunk". Like I said, I really don't want to get into it because it is a very emotional subject and people want to impose their own sense of morality on any discussion.
