BIGUN 1,490 #1 April 16, 2005 If you consider there has been an average of 160,000 troops in theater during the last 22 months, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. Washington DC has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, yet the firearm death rate is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capitol, than you are in Iraq. Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. freethefly 6 #3 April 16, 2005 ***Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C. I fully agree. We need to insert an interim government that is by the people, for the people. Being that D.C. is such a violent place and that it is basically a terrorist state, we need a coalition of the willing to secure the peace before we can even consider change. Much like Iraq.(since the coalition arrived in Iraq it has become the summer vacation mecca for terrorist the world over)"...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." billvon 3,120 #4 April 16, 2005 >that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. It is a uniquely american conceit that we only consider the US troops killed in Iraq to be significant when it comes to how many people have died there.
BIGUN 1,490 #5 April 17, 2005 You could be right. I should probably hold off on the unique possibility that other nations or the Iraqi people build any memorials for those US troops who've died there..Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. Treejumps 0 #6 April 18, 2005 I have been saying for years that we should put up a big wall around South East DC, install some bleachers, and sell tickets to the ensuing show. We could earn enough in ticket sales to pay to raze the leftover mess, and get a fresh start. If you don't live around DC, South East (Easst of the Anacostia River) is where 90 percent of all of the murders take place. The rest of DC is a decent place to live. Kennedy 0 #7 April 18, 2005 If you really want to make a difference, that wall is going to have to cover a bit more a DC and a whole chunk of PG County as well.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
