Skyrad 0 #27 March 28, 2005 Yea I started this kind of tongue in cheek and then was going to change the options but it wouldn't allow me to. I also agree that its a great place to visit but theres no way I could live there permently. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. miked10270 0 #30 March 28, 2005 Quote...a great place to visit but theres no way I could live there permently. Agreed. Also a great place to live with an independent income & good health. But not to live & work there (although I do believe that hospitals in AZ are crying out for Radiographers!). A few years ago I was in Casa Grande Medical Centre X-Ray, mentioned I was State Registered, and straight off asked if I fancied working there!!! I guess this comes down to the difference in attitude again. We Eurpoeans may gripe about our high taxation & less than perfect public services, but at the end of the day, we sure as hell LOVE our Socialised Medicine & effective Welfare State. There's the phobia around The US that it's a good life if you have money & health & work... BUT... If you lose any of those things there's very little in the way of a safety-net to save you from destitution. Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. miked10270 0 #31 March 28, 2005 Err... Since I've already been asked what a "Wanker" is (I won't say who by), I thought I'd better post this song: http://www.hamncheez.com/media/flash/mbtg.swf Now. For those of you who may not know what a "wanker" is... THIS IS NOT WORK SAFE!!!! BUT IT IS BLOODY FUNNY! Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. gjhdiver 0 #32 March 28, 2005 QuoteSo, it seems that alot of our American 'cousins' think that we all want nothing more than to leave our homes, families, friends and our countries and go live in the USA. So how right are they? (Non Yanks only now!) I couldn't find a option to vote for. I just wound up here by chance. I had no particular desire or plans to move here. Now I'm settled, I have no particular desire to move again, although I do retain that option.
cvfd1399 0 #33 March 28, 2005 I am sure that everyone has been to the US before they posted on the poll so that they have their OWN opinon instead of just using what they hear and see by other people expressing their OWN opinion.
Darius11 12 #34 March 28, 2005 Defiantly wouldn’t sale my ass for a greencard. I actually had no desire to come back but I did to help my parents out, and it turned out to be a very good move. I love it here and really have no desire to be anywhere else. I love this country it has given me chances and opportunities that I would not have anywhere else. I also think Americans are some of the most tolerant, and respectful people i have ever met.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I was always led to believe one made use of your hands during wanking... by the way, couldn't find an answer I liked on the poll so I chose to take the piss instead. Back in the days of the old DCRR Qualification - when "daylight" film systems were a wonderful new fangled idea, CT Scanners made a hell of a lot of crashing & banging (& were only good for skulls), and NMRI was something a couple of loons were messing about with in a university! I just never got around to cancelling my State Registration. RA25319 I think. Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. kbordson 8 #44 April 2, 2005 So... ummmm. Why the anti-American sentiment? Did some one piss in your Cheerios this morning, or are you hurt that your application for a mail order husband got rejected? Seriously though - not nice to just bag on someones homeland for shits and giggles.... I know you might have been placing that tongue in cheek, but still, not nice. kbordson 8 #46 April 2, 2005 No... actually not only is my glass half full, but I'll be happy to share it with anyone that's thirsty. I was just saying that it's not nice to just post a Non-American poll about whether America sucks or not. Especially since I didn't see a similiar one for Peru, UK, China or Australia. Seemed a bit as if you either had an axe to grind or you just wanted to complain about something. (but I guess this is Speakers Corner) p.s. not trying to be a mean argumentative, just teasing you and being snotty.... you're a bit too cute to try to piss off. Skyrad 0 #47 April 4, 2005 Thank for the compliment Actualy it seem that alot of people took it the same way as you. Maybe its a cultural thing but I didn't post this as a does America suck post. I posted this about three in the morning with tongue firmly in cheek. Its just that I have heard US posters express the opinion many times that the rest of the world is jelous of the US and gave the impression that they think everyone outside of the US wants to live in the US. So I wondered if that was true. Seems it's not! I like spending time (and dollars) in the US and have been quite a few times, but like others I couldn't live there. That doesn't mean I think it sucks, just that it's not for me. As for the UK, Yep, living here Sucks! When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
