DrunkMonkey 0 #1 March 23, 2005 The APD has an empty cruiser parked on the shoulder of I-40 with a mannequin in the driver's seat. Goddamn traffic slows from the usual 60mph (the posted limit) to 30, so every fucking shitstain in a Dually can stare at the oversize Ken doll in the car. I've almost been rear-ended at least 4 times this week because of it. They're causing 5-mile long rolling backups... 1)Why are they creating such a hazard? 2)Since when do municipal cops have control over the interstates, a STATE POLICE jurisdiction? 3) I like cops, but not when they use draconian tactics and cause more hazard than they make up for in safety... Grrr..
sundevil777 102 #2 March 24, 2005 I've never encountered people slowing more than a couple mph below the limit when a cop is parked on the side/median. Are people slowing down because it is a dummy, do they know it is a dummy and want to get a good look?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
markd_nscr986 0 #3 March 24, 2005 Uhhhhh...... let me get you some cheese to go with that whine....... We had the Golden city cops doing the same thing on Hwy 6 here......all the locals knew about it and just blew right by "it".....it was funny to see people stop and try to ask for directions from "Officer Manny"Marc SCR 6046 SCS 3004
Gawain 0 #4 March 24, 2005 Find a buddy with a tow truck and a lot of guts, and go out there at 3:30am on a Sunday morning or something and tow it away. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Botellines 0 #6 March 24, 2005 that is quite common in Poland. But they don´t have empty cruisers, just 2D cardboards painted like a police car. Kind of pointless since the roads there will not let you run too fast anyway.
ScubaSteve 0 #7 March 24, 2005 I have seen State Police in IL do this before. I remember a few years back someone with balls put a Dunkin Doughnuts box on the hood. It was there for a few days. lol
kallend 2,151 #8 March 24, 2005 Traffic lights cause accidents too. Compared with alternative methods of traffic control that are available and tested, traffic light intersections have 100% greater accident rates.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

larsrulz 0 #10 March 24, 2005 Quoteusually, county/city/township/etc. police have joint jurisdiction over the interstate with the state police. What he said, police have a certain jurisdiction. If it is a certain county, then they can enforce all applicable laws within the county, whether they be local, state, or federal laws, no matter if it is local, state, federal, or personal property (to certain restrictions).
