I find spatulas to be much more useful in the kitchen than guns.

I'm not well-trained in the use of spatulas, however, and results can be dangerous.

But for self-defense, I'd much rather have a firearm than a frying pan.

I don't think a gun on the counter is that odd. Years ago when I used to live in DC, I kept a 22 rifle in the kitchen and would shoot rats in the alley as I was waiting for my dinner to cook.

I keep a BB gun on my kitchen counter right now because I have a problem with critters getting into my bird feeders.
