kallend 2,150 #2 March 13, 2005 Quotehttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7119928/ Why do you say that? At present the US simply can't afford another war, and I doubt the Europeans or Russians intend to invade.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Gawain 0 #5 March 13, 2005 I am more concerned about Israel. While I would support any unilateral action they might take (e.g. Iraq 1981), things seem to be settling down with the PLO and the like. I think that if a strike were required, the US should be the one to do it. We're already there and have already stirred up the pot per se.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Sen.Blutarsky 0 #6 March 13, 2005 Choose one poster to dz.com who is currently serving on active duty and pick another poster who is presently serving in the reserves. Let these fellow skydivers be killed visiting FUBAR upon Iran. Now, please share with us what it is that their deaths have achieved? Do you intend for us to occupy Iran? If so, we may need to perform some multiplication on the above numbers. At this stage this would be for the explicit objective of ... I personally doubt serving in Iraq would prepare you to FUBAR Iran, which is a completely different set of facts and has not been attrited for more than a decade prior to being FUBARd, as Iraq was. I do wish and the others good luck, though.

ChasingBlueSky 0 #11 March 14, 2005 QuoteWhy? I think it's evident.. We'll see... Based on what? Bush and his administration while he was in Europe announced that he would take a more gentle approach to Iran. Here is something - replace all mention of Iran in that article with the USSR and you will see the same hardline attitude from the cold war. Iran saw that by taking a hard tough stance against this country the USSR avoided any attacks from us. This sounds like Iran is just setting itself up to be a superpower. They have the bark right now, the bite can't be far behind. And if you think otherwise can you explain how we could handle yet another front right now?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... billvon 3,120 #12 March 14, 2005 I doubt that. I think Bush is capable of learning from his mistakes, and will realize that diplomacy really can work if you limit your goals to realistic ones (i.e. slowing down Iran's nuclear program.) Iran will eventually have nuclear weapons, just as Pakistan does. So will a lot of other countries. The best we can hope for now is to slow down the process.
