question about Bush's Social Security tour

60 cities in 60 days to bolster support for his plan.

The question I have, a sincere question - no dig -
is he only letting in people that agree with his plan or is he really trying to convince people?

If he comes to Arizona, I may go to see what he has to say. Right now, I'm on the fence as to his proposal but I'm not counting on SS in any case.

Apparently the audiences are carefully vetted. Which suggests the effort is mostly for the sound bites.

Radio interview - WBEZ, with woman who got a ticket to one of the events and then had it rescinded 'cos she was a registered (gasp!) Democrat..

And this interview with one woman on a radio station is enough proof for you? Based on this interview, it is your contention that NO Democrats are being allowed in?

Edited to add: I'm sure there is some vetting going on, but I'm equally sure it's targeted more at hecklers than those who merely have Democrat credentials.

Don't be so defensive, I'm not saying its a bad thing, in fact I think it's the smart thing to do. Talking to a few hundred people a day gets him nowhere. Getting the message on network TV every day is what it's all about. It hardly matters who is in his audience, or if it's balanced, as long as there is one to bring the TV crews along.
